Obama Claims CIA Involvement In Iran “Patently False”
Source: Prison Planet.com

President Barack Obama was forced to address accusations that the CIA was involved in fomenting the post-election riots in Iran during his White House press conference yesterday, claiming the allegations were “patently false,” despite the fact that the U.S. government publicly gave the CIA approval to undertake a destabilization campaign in Iran more than two years ago.

“There are reports suggesting that the CIA is behind all this - all of which is patently false but it gives you a sense of the narrative that the Iranian government would love to play into,” said Obama.

It is widely suspected that the well known right-wing terrorist organization known as Mujahedeen-e Khalq, once run by Saddam Hussein’s dreaded intelligence services, is now also working exclusively for the CIA’s Directorate of Operations and carrying out bombings in Iran. A large number of Mujahedeen-e Khalq members were arrested following riots last week, according to a Press TV report. The article claims that the men were “extensively trained in Iraq’s camp Ashraf to create post-election mayhem in the country”.

As part of CIA destabilization efforts in Iran, former Pakistani Army General Mirza Aslam Beig last week claimed that the Agency had distributed 400 million dollars inside Iran to evoke a revolution. Beig cited documents that prove “the CIA spent 400 million dollars inside Iran to prop up a colorful-hollow revolution following the election.”

Yes, of course people act on their own. What you're saying doesn't really stand as an objection to my point. It's not cynical at all anymore to doubt official stories from our leaders - given our government's long covert (and not so covert) history of destabilizing and undermining "uncooperative" nations.

3. As if he would know.
CIA has its probes and tentacles all over the place, with all sorts of contingency plans. If it didn't, it wouldn't be a very useful intelligence agency. Of course it would foment unrest. That does not mean, however, that CIA is the root of the unrest.

4. Absolutely agree
and maybe you can tell the guy a couple posts up that logical thought of this is better than blaming "CT'ers".. I will keep defending that to discredit a person who is labeled a "CT", is to discredit investigation.... sorry, well said,)

6. Yes, Obama is so naive and out of his league that he is clueless.
The CIA just distracts him with a shiny object and does whatever they chose. Funny how Bush knew everything the CIA did. Obama is such a rookie.

Need I add the smilie or are people really that dense?

7. Anyone with any working knowledge of our CIA
knows we have our hands in the up-rising in Iran.

Afghanistan & Iraq both touch Iran's borders, for crying out loud.

10. Obama said it in his press conference.
"I mean, you guys must have seen the reports. They've got some of the comments that I've made being mistranslated in Iran, suggesting that I'm telling rioters to go out and riot some more. There are reports suggesting that the CIA is behind all this. All of which patently false. But it gives you a sense of the narrative that the Iranian government would love to play into."

9. About six or seven years ago there was a poster who reported that we had
Edited on Wed Jun-24-09 01:35 PM by peacetalksforall
spies in Iran - a relative of a poster was about to go.

They have spies to figure out where the nuclear stuff is and at what stage of development and whether it is for military or energy purposes.
They have spies to figure out the safety of laying pipelines.
They have spies to measure the leaders and the subjects.

... but the thread was all about where they are going to bomb to prevent the deaths of innocents.

What about the other 23? intelligence units, especially the military? We have how many private contractors?

It doesn't make sense that the CIA would work with those who are protesting in order to cause a regime change. They want this regime so they can make war for the corporations and because that is what the CIA, military AIPAC and all their bosses, plus Israel, want. Want they might want is an all out set-up for their excuse to finally bomb with Israel.

What are the levels of spying on Iran since the demonstrations started? Are they all in sync?

CIA
Mossad
Military Intel
State Dept and State Department Intel
Private contractors

Does Obama know all that is going on?

14. Locking... This is not a valid LBN source
From the rules for posting in LBN:

"Do not quote or link to "conspiracy theory" websites, except in our September 11 forum, which is the only forum on Democratic Underground where we permit members to debate highly speculative conspiracy theories. A reasonable person should be able to identify a conspiracy theory website without much difficulty."
