NKorea warns US of 'thousand-fold' military action
Source: AP

SEOUL, South Korea – North Korea warned Wednesday of a "thousand-fold" military retaliation against the U.S. and its allies if provoked, the latest threat in a drumbeat of rhetoric in defense of its rogue nuclear program.

Japanese and South Korean news reports said North Korea is preparing an additional site for test-firing a long-range missile that experts say could be capable of striking the United States. Russia's deputy defense minister reportedly said it would shoot down any missile headed its way.

The warning of a military strike, carried by the North's state media, came hours after President Barack Obama declared North Korea a "grave threat" to the world and pledged that recent U.N. sanctions on the communist regime will be aggressively enforced.

8 years ago I'd say he was just blowing smoke and that proved true, but we know he's close to deaths door at this point. I know he doesn't have the capability to hit us but our troops in S Korea could be in considerable danger if he snaps. I think China will erradicate their spoiled child/neighbor before we'd have to though. It wouldn't be practical for us to nuke N Korea without it starting the whole damn thing off (WWIII), but I bet China would roll in there in record time and put an end to it.

Or, they're nuts too and will decide to have it out while they have the uppser hand of our army being bogged down elsewhere.

They get into WWIII with us and there won't be any Wal Marts left for them to sell their products to us in. Probably won't be much of anything left anywhere.

10. Yeah, it's a concept that's really hard to fathom in a "limited" way.
if an event occurred with North Korea, Taiwan would immediately go on full alert.

And if the "event" resolved quickly with what is now N. Korea being transformed into something else, that would give China the big pants to start looking around at other areas.

What worries me also about Taiwan is that it's basically a de facto US base. China attacking would change everything.
