Sarah Palin: Levi Would Have Lived With Bristol "Over My Dead Body"
Source: Huffington Post

It is clear at this point that there is absolutely no love lost between Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and Levi Johnston. To recap: After he appeared on the "Tyra Banks" show to talk about his sex life with her daughter Bristol, Palin hit back hard by saying, "We're disappointed that Johnston and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship."

Then Johnston appeared on CBS, claiming that he was treated like an outcast by the Palins after the election, going so far as to call the family "snobby," which surely did not go over too well in Wasilla. And while Johnston claims that he was living with the Palins for a time, the family denies that he did. Johnston's family, for their part, have backed him up and accused the Palins of lying.

Lest one think the issue has been put to rest, Sarah Palin was asked at a press conference Friday about Johnston's claim that he resided with the family before Bristol Palin gave birth to their child. Palin's response:

I know the truth about my family. I know details about whether Levi Johnston was allowed to live with my teenage daughter or not. By the way, it would be over my dead body that a kid would live with my teenage daughter.

I think I've figured out her strategy: keep talking about the family scandal and people will stop paying attention. Yeah, that'll work...

To me the most interesting and important fact of this family. Like Mommy like Daughter.....

And I'll bet you Sarah's daughter will be knocked up pre marriage as well. No one willcare in 16 to 18 years from now but.... she'll be nailed..... like mommy and grandmommy....

30. Like grandma, like mom, like daughter
Sarah's mom married apparently "in the summer" and had her first baby in February the following year, per that book about Palin a few months ago.

Even if you give her the benefit of the doubt and say she considered the month of May a "summer month"..that makes the delivery exactly nine months after the "wedding".

95. Not once the politician throws the family out on the stage
and does everything else that Palin has done with them since September.

And then there is the fact that 18 yr old Bristol herself went and did an interview and discussed everything. As did Levi.

Makes them all fair game.

I really think Palin is losing her mind...every day there is a new gaffe/retraction within a day of the gaffe/yet another gaffe/more retractions...both in her personal life and professional.

108. Exactly. The Palin clan were used as props...
SP would throw them out there and then say "Wait, stop, leave them alone" when the media and bloggers started to dig some more...then it was that cycle over and over..still is.
Bristol does her interview to discuss the whole thing and SP STILL is trying to stay stop, stop, stop. The Johnstons go and do interviews, Sarah is appalled. Where was her outrage when Bristol was with GVS?? There was none.

120. And He and Michelle Both Expressed Regret for Doing That
The Obamas do not use their children for props unlike the Palins. If you let your daughter give an interview and she expresses an idea that contradicts her mother's political agenda, then that is news.

Palin, and her followers, do not want birth control taught in school. Instead, they only want abstinence taught. Bristol is living proof of the fallacy of that ideal.

96. When a cornerstone of your political platform is to strengthen families

And a promotion of a certain moralistic model of family life, it is an issue to see how it works out in practice, by its most vocal political champions, who people vote for to enact those family values, and force them on the rest of us.

While it deteriorates into mean gossip, just plainly noting how "family values" works out in practice, she and other social conservatives make that fair game. It's as fair as noting how abstinence-only sex education fails in practice.

110. you're right but the Sarah Palins of the US legislate anti-abortion laws et al.
like cell stem research, family planning (i.e. advocating contraception), anti-gay rights, etc. so they are fair game. Too bad holier than thou "family values" pols like Newtie and Sarah have their own families scrutinized. Until they understand, "Stay out of others' private parts," their families will be examined.

but hey, such is celebrity journalism these days. This story wouldn't have nearly the "legs" it does absent Sarah P.'s religious sanctimony. I can empathize with Bristol (at least she isn't compunding her problems by making what looked to be a crappy marriage), but not for Sarah P.

What a load of bullshit.

If she hadn't alienated the Native Alaskans before, she really has with her recent choice of Wayne Anthony Ross for attorney general, a man who believes that urban rural hunters should be able to take the same amount of game and fish as people living a subsistence lifestyle in the Bush. It's been a long time since I've seen the Native community so up in arms about something.

93. Yep..."the PARENTS" were being kept up at night...
http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20259679,00.htm...

But like many babies, Tripp – who was born Dec. 27 – can be a handful. Often, he's up half the night, Bristol, 18, told FOX, and like millions of babies across America, he keeps his parents awake.

(snip)

Last year, when Bristol was pregnant, she and Levi would go out on dinner and movie dates, and Levi would bring her flowers, according to Trailblazer: An Intimate Biography of Sarah Palin, by PEOPLE assistant editor Lorenzo Benet.

Then, in the first week after Tripp's birth, Levi moved in with the Palins, Levi's mother, Sherry Johnston, told PEOPLE in January. He immersed himself in childcare duties and bought his son a miniature hockey stick.

Lately, friends and relatives say, he's been back and forth between the Palins' and his mother's home 15 minutes away. Sometimes, he brings along Tripp to visit his paternal grandmother, who told PEOPLE that health issues restrict her ability to go out.

Edited on Sat Apr-11-09 04:59 AM by fujiyama
The Johnstons have a history of troubled behavior, but Sarah Palin has no integrity. She has shown to be a liar over and over again. Her picking a fight with a freakin teenager - that too the father of her grandson is just plain pathetic. Levi and Bristol were a buncha horny teens and Levi more or less admits it. He may as well enjoy his few seconds in the spotlight. With Sarah Palin it's all about herself and her deluded ambitions. God, I'd love to see her run for president in '12.

This is an absolute trash fest. If this were the mid nineties, they would be on Jerry Springer...

I gotta admit though, I can't get enough of following their little feud. What a train wreck.

16. Sounds as though sp is trying to pull a Bill Clinton. "Depends upon the definition of 'live with'"
Apparently, Levi was there, with a lot of his stuff, for an extended stay, probably sleeping in Bristol's bedroom, but he wasn't living with them. He was staying with them.

it would be over my dead body that a kid would live with my teenage daughter but it's ok if he knocks my daughter because, you see, we are all about family values starts only when he starts living with our family with had you-know-what "flower-bees" outside our home that doesn't violate our family values when only he asked me permission to live with us as i realize that it was against family values and hence i got Bristol to throw him out.

that was what she actually said ... now, doesn't that make sense ;)

29. Has the MSM asked her WHY she thought Bristol was pregnant in May 2007??
Yeah, didn't think so....

Bristol wrote on her myspace in May 2007 that when Palin overheard her and "Johnny" on the phone, she confronted Bristol on whether she was pregnant.

Now...WHAT exactly did she hear that led her to that conclusion?

That was a year before Bristol was pregnant with Tripp.

Bristol's entry to Levi's myspace at one point "you left some clothes at my house"

______________
Don't mind Sarah, she is a little panicky right now...Johnstons' media blitz, Bristol's myspace entries to her friends surfacing not painting the picture that Sarah really wants her base to see....

5/14/2007 Bristol to Johnny:
ha ha, my mom was asking me who I was on the phone with last night, and she said she heard everything I was saying.. now she thinks im pregnant…ahaha call me later if you'd like

4/18/2007 Bristol to Johnny

92. They should get married
Some may view having kids out of wedlock as a badge of honor, but not a good thing.

Why they are not getting married, maybe Levi is thinking, "yikes, having her as my mother-in-law". They should still get married.

And Sarah Palin should be more concerned about the child having both parents around, I can see a parent having concern about their child living with someone, but once you have a kid together, too late concerns have become reality.

http://www.themudflats.net/2009/04/11/palin-interview-a... /

Well, very disappointing and surprising. You know, like the Tyra Banks Show. Bristol didn’t even know he was going on the show, so, you know, quite devastated to find out he was on an airplane heading to New York to do the show. She was quite devastated, but she’s a strong young woman and quite independant, and recognizes too that sometimes folks are enticed with an idea from fame, maybe a hint of fortune attached even, and that clouds a person’s judgement. And that’s what I attribute some of Levi’s actions to. He’s a young kid. Every kid that age, they’ve got a lot of growing up to do, and but forever and ever he’s going to be Tripps father and part of our family and, you know, we will love him and help him through this also, and I anticipate at the end of the day, things are going to be good. Just kind of a rough time right now but I’m thankful that I know the truth through of that also, and by the way I do want to clear up one issue that has really just been a bee in my bonnet over the whole Levi Johnston. Would have been over my dead body that I would have ever given permission for a teenage boy to live with a teenage girl. Other than that though, you know, my prayer is always for wisdom and for strength and part of that wisdom I ask for is to know when to just shut up, keep my mouth shut, and let truth be revealed on its own at some point, and that’s what I’m trying to live right now, through this latest episode.

Edited on Sun Apr-12-09 01:24 AM by caseymoz
Yet more evidence that the Republicans lost their collective minds with Reagan. Ever since Reagan showed you didn't need a working mind to be their hero, they've made it a tradition of having at least one incompetent idiot on the ticket ever since. Unfortunately, one of them was at the top of the ticket.

Then they pretend that the idiot is really a genius who is actually outsmarting everyone, but has too much folksy contempt for University liberal pseudo-intellectuals to put on airs like they do. (Poor Dan Quayle didn't get that treatment, that part of the paradigm developed later.)

Anybody want to have a beer?

"live with my teenager daughter", twice. Exactly the same words.

Obviously a phrase she is consciously tacking on. What does it mean? Probably that he did live with them, but she's making a legal/technical distinction between living with the family and living ALONE with her teenage daughter.

122. Chuck Heath to Levi: "Buy some diapers"
Take it to court, Chuck...I'm sure that Sarah is just itching to get all the juicy details out in the open, including getting the entire Palin family under oath about the baby, when he was born, the real marital status of Levi/Bristol, and much, much more!! Even better, then Levi can get full, unsupervised visits with his baby.

http://palingates.blogspot.com/2009/04/sarah-palins-fat...

Chuck Heath says Levi Johnston is capitalizing on national interviews but not spending money on Tripp.

Heath says he wishes Johnston would "take some of this money he's making and buy some diapers with it."

The unemployed Johnston has said he wasn't paid for appearances on national television last week, when he complained the Palin family was limiting his access to Tripp since the couple broke up.
------------------

Oh, yeah, about ALL those free gifts mailed to the baby and Bristol prior to the birth...the ones you bragged were overflowing in your house:

http://news.aol.com/political-machine/2008/12/29/baby-p... /

According to Australia's Strollerbaby, the offspring of Bristol Palin (pictured) and hockey stud Levi Johnston has already received a number gifts from well-wishers around the world. In fact, Sarah Palin's father, Chuck Heath, says that the presents have literally been piling up.

To the tune of one hundred thousand. You read that right.

The question is, how will this little soon-to-be scrapper, who also shares a family tree with accused drug dealer Sherry Johnston (Levi's mom), possibly play with, wear, or nibble on all the treats that have arrived to welcome his birth? In an interview with Grandparents.com, Mr. Heath remarked,

" all kinds of gifts laying around the place - all kinds of baby stuff. I'm in a room right now just full of baby stuff - more than she'll ever use."
