One U.S. Soldier Killed, Three Injured in Attack on Convoy in Downtown Baghdad.
The Associated Press Published: Jul 28, 2003

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - One U.S. soldier was killed and three were injured Monday when an attacker dropped a grenade from a downtown Baghdad overpass onto a convoy, the military said....49 the number of soldiers killed in a guerrilla war since May 1, ....163 U.S. soldiers have died "in (combat) action" in Iraq, 16 more than in the 1991 Gulf War. It took the military hours to confirm the attack. Witnesses had given reporters varying accounts earlier in the day, saying at least three U.S. soldiers were injured or killed in the attack. <snip>

Shihab Ahmed, who owns a nearby flower shop, said he was told all the soldiers died.

1. My question is
has * even expressed condolences over these deaths? I know he's yet to attend a funeral, but at least the asshole could offer some kind of apology. Something. Anything!

3. That's what I wonder...
Before the war, Dubya claimed that he would be the one to hug and console the widow's. However, I have not heard of him attending one funeral or even contacting any of them, much less hug them!

Hell, we are not even allowed to see the flag draped coffins coming into Dover AFB.

Dubya and his crew of henchmen don't even consider these soldiers humans, someones son, husband,or dad. No, they are just little pawns in his quest for power and oil.

He sickens me!

4. No, this is the incident from this morning
Initial reports this morning indicated that two had been killed, but these reports came from eyewitnesses on the scene, who were probably not able to distinguish the dead from the badly wounded. This is the CentCom confirmation that ONE soldier was killed during that incident, and three wounded. I expect that at least one of the wounded is severely wounded, and may yet pass: if witnesses thought he was dead, he obviously received much more than a scratch.

But no - this is not a separate incident. Paying attention to the location, time and method of attack really does help differentiate these.

10. Who 'd be attacking Iraqi troops if they were shooting kids in your town?

When you wonder "Who's behind these attacks?" it is helpful to ponder that question.

didn't read the line closely and note it said 50+ in accidents. Edited my previous post's subject (great that we can now edit the subject).
