Detainees Say They Planned Sept. 11

The five detainees at Guantánamo Bay charged with planning the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks have filed a document with the military commission at the United States naval base there expressing pride at their accomplishment and accepting full responsibility for the killing of nearly 3,000 people.

The document, which may be released publicly on Tuesday, uses the Arabic term for a consultative assembly in describing the five men as the “9/11 Shura Council,” and it says their actions were an offering to God, according to excerpts of the document that were read to a reporter by a government official who was not authorized to discuss it publicly.

The document is titled “The Islamic Response to the Government’s Nine Accusations,” the military judge at the Guantánamo Bay detention camp said in a separate filing, obtained by The New York Times, that describes the detainees’ document.

The document was filed on behalf of the five men, including Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, who has described himself as the mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks.

And as far as a handful of guys boasting they had something to do with 9/11, I'm sure there are loads of people in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan who had nothing to do with it who would brag about their imaginary participation. Some people would consider such a false confession heroic, a kind of "I am Spartacus" moment. And others might actually have had something to do with it. But how do you tell the difference? Torture isn't the way to find truth. It's just for personal entertainment.

I want to see phone records, relations, bought plane tickets for the "terrorist" who were on the "flights". I want them to contact the possible living "terrorist" who claim it wasn't them on the plane. Flight school records, DNA matches from the "terrorist" and their families for the "ID" that was typed. NORAD tapes as to why they didn't catch any planes that day. And the OFFICAL flight list. Man those "terrorist" had everything covered. LOL! Yes bring it on. And we haven't even gotten to the explosives in the WTC. This is gonna be good if they have a trial.

How do you ID everyone when the planes burn up that there's not much left. They claim to have ID everyone. How did they match DNA to the "terrorist"? I'm sure their families were so willing to help. I could go on and on but I'm not changing your mind and your not changing mine. Let's see the evidence. All of it. Like why Bush said 3 months later that he actually saw the first plane that moring live at the school because the TV was on. Were news camera's already there before the plane hit? The video of the first plane was shown on 09/12/01. How did Bush see it? We know where he was when the second plane hit. Cowering with children in a school. Don't you know what you did that morning? This was 3 months after in a town hall meeting. You gotta see the video. You tube it if you don't believe me. But wait I bet you have a myth buster for that too. On his way to the school they already knew 2 planes were hijacked. Why wouldn't he think if he saw it that it was the hijacked plane and canceled his visit to the school? After all the time line shows the plane hit before he got to the school. The reportes asked him about it before he entered the school. All we gotta do is put Bush on the stand and ask him to recall what he did on 9/11. And how he saw the first plane hit. And up to speed is what you should be. I have been on this for years. Too many holes in the governments story. Again let's see the evidence. If you were on trial for 9/11 wouldn't you want it.

If we are going to hold the detainees as "Terrorist" lets see the evidence. And then they come up with a commission that it's main goal was to find no blame. How does NORAD miss 4 planes? How come these "terrorist" didn't fly out of New York? At that time you could see the towers from the runway. No lets leave from Boston so maybe NORAD could shoot us down. They were shitty planners. 41. People have confessed to murder, been put on death row, and later completely exonerated

because it was proven they could not have committed the crime. In most cases I've heard of in America, the false confession came simply because the suspect was physically tired, wanted the detectives to let them rest, and counted on those same detectives to figure out the confession was bogus. The only coercion in those cases was sleep deprivation, not Cheney water torture.
