U.S. official: Uranium enrichment parts found in Iran

WASHINGTON (CNN) --International inspectors have discovered uranium enrichment centrifuge parts in Iran that are much more sophisticated than the type Tehran has admitted to having, a senior Bush administration official said Thursday.

International Atomic Energy Agency officials found "P-2" centrifuge parts that are "far superior, more sophisticated than anything" that the Iranians have revealed publicly, the official said.

10. In a nutshell: Japan signed a deal for one of Iran's biggest oil fields.
The Imperials are NOT happy about that.

5. Why would the Iranians feel a need to have nukes I wonder?
Perhaps they watched what happened to Iraq when they were incapable of protecting their natural resources from being plundered by the USA?

6. Back to 'no named' officals with big quotes. We have to learn to
wait for the other shoe to drop to see if it's a Bush lie or not.

11. But this is the IAEA. Hardly the BFEE's bagmen.
After all, this is the same organization that called BushCo on the forged Niger docs.

So what's going on here? I'm thinking it might not be too far off to think Iran does indeed have plans for nukes - and, as pointed out above, for good reason: Iraq didn't have them and got invaded, while North Korea sits unmolested by the Empire.

Not an unreasonable cause-and-effect. I'm not saying it's a fact, just a plausible scenario.

19. I agree, this is a very strange day :)
Nukes allow North Korea to get away with unspeakable atrocities against it's own people. Perhaps Iran has future plans in mind. They have already denied reformists access to the ballot box and just today closed newspapers and internet access of the reformist groups. It always helps totalitarian governments if they have the ultimate big stick.
