Chavez: Another vote possible on term limits

AP CARACAS, Venezuela – Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez says he might not take a "no" vote as the final word on his efforts to expand his time in office.

Chavez tells the CNN news network that if Venezuelans reject a proposal to lift term limits in a Feb. 15 referendum, his supporters could try again in the future.

Chavez says "there's no limit in the constitution regarding the number of times that an amendment can be attempted."

1. So he's just trying to make himself president for life at this point?
I'm not terribly surprised.

5. Who didn't see this coming a mile away?
He isn't leaving office willingly.

He'll just have them keep voting until he get the "right" result.

Where's the outrage about that? Oh, I see, Uribe is 'our' guy, a lapdog of our corporate masters while Hugo is not.

BTW, our Founding Fathers did not believe in term limits either.

Nope, he's power hungry too. There just aren't any hypocritical defenders of Uribe here.

7. When Chavez leaves office, Venezuela will go straight to hell in a handbasket.
Oil companies and banks will take Venezuela over again and crush the Venezuelan people under their jackboots.

All except for the wealthiest 5 percent, of course.

8. Out of 26 million people, Chavez is the only one who can do the job!?!
That's B.S. & pure example of a personality cult.

There are plenty of intelligent and qualified people in Venezuela.

Chavez isn't some irreplaceable demi-god holding back the forces of evil.
