With Cheney gone, Google gains sky view of VP's home
Source: AFP

SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) — Google Maps has a clear satellite view of the US vice president's home available online in a development that curiously coincides with the departure of secret-prone Dick Cheney.

The abode in Washington, DC, that has served for 25 years as official residence for US vice presidents had been digitally blurred at Google Earth during George W. Bush's second term in office.

Mere days before Barack Obama officially assumed the mantel as US president and Joe Biden took an oath as vice president on January 20, the fuzzy satellite image of One Observatory Circle was swapped for a clear picture.

The home is on the grounds of the National Observatory.

9. He didn't want the building where all the big decisions were made to be visible, as everyone
in the outside world never believed for a minute that B*sh was in charge - it was Darth Cheney. Just like he was down in his hole during 9/11.

So great for Washington to take a giant SHAT and rid itself of the entire BFEE.

10. right wing cowardice
As usual, right-wing cowardice explains ex-President Cheney's decision to blur the photos.

Recall that uber-coward Cheney had a baby 9 months and 2 days after the exemption for married, but childless, couples was lifted for Vietnam would-be draftees.

It is truly cosmic-level irony to realize that the people behind the near-destruction of America over the last eight years are more cowardly than the Lion in Oz.

11.  After Cheney, vice presidential house is clearer on Google Earth Updated at 3:23 PM
Source: LA Times

For years, aerial views of the residence have been blurred. Now, new images are bringing it into focus.

Reporting from Washington -- Dick Cheney may not have lived in an undisclosed location while he was vice president, but it was all but impossible to see it on Google Earth.

Once obscured by pixilation, Google Earth's aerial image of the vice presidential residence on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington is now nearly as clear as its view of the White House.

This appears to be none of the White House's doing, however, even though the arrival of clarity coincided with the inauguration of the home's new occupant, Vice President Joe Biden.

"Google Earth and Google Maps are regularly updated as new imagery becomes available," a spokeswoman for Google Inc. said Monday. "Our most recent update, which went live last week, included updated imagery of the Washington, D.C., area from several providers."

13. I love Jon Stewart's
I love Jon Stewart's comparison of Cheney to Darth Vader and Biden as the mock-Darth Vader character on "Space Balls." Brilliant and hilarious.

Buy, yeah, it seems like Cheney was brewing something up in his secret lair. We need a special investigation into the Bush Administration, then we'll probably see just how dangerous Cheney really was: http://tv1.com/playlists/116

16. How about his place...
...on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake? The one just a stones-throw (or more accurately, how far an escaped slave can travel in one day) from the one Rummy bought a few years back...the one that had been a place for slave-owners to send discipline-problems from their plantations for a little 'harsh interrogation' just so they'd get their 'minds right'. I think it was once called 'Mount Misery'.

I mean if ever there were two evil mother-fuckers that some percentage of this country's citizens thought, and still do think, were appropriate leaders, then it's these pricks. Now we know just how the Germans must have felt when they said, 'we really didn't know they were like that'.
