Xinhua KABUL, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee paid a visit to Afghan capital Kabul Wednesday, a statement of Afghan foreign ministry released here said.
The Indian top diplomat during his tour, at the invitation of his Afghan counterpart Rangin Dadfar Spanta, would call on President Hamid Karzai and exchange views on matters pertaining mutual interests including regional peace and the war on terror.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai has paid a two-day visit to New Delhi early this month during which the Indian government announced a contribution of 250,000 tons wheat to Afghanistan to overcome food shortage in winter.
India has contributed 1.250 billion U.S. dollars for the reconstruction of war-torn Afghanistan since 2002.
