India: Pakistan must be brought to justice
Source: UPI

NEW DELHI, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee says that Pakistan is still sponsoring international terrorism and must be disciplined.

Speaking Wednesday at a New Delhi conference, Mukherjee drew parallels between last November's terrorist attacks in Mumbai and the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in the United States, The Times of India reported.

"The magnitude of (the) terrorism attack in 9/11 has once again been manifested in the Mumbai attack It is high time for the international community to bring states that allow the use of their territory for terror purposes to be brought to discipline," Mukherjee said.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has accused official Pakistani agencies of having a hand in planning the Mumbai attacks, which it says were carried out by an outlawed Islamist fundamentalist group based in the disputed Kashmir region. Pakistan vehemently denies the accusations, saying it is investigating "non-state actors" in connection with the attacks Nov. 26-29.

1. Pakistan should be balkanized and its military cut down to bare minimum
period. It is an illegitimate country formed by the British out of spite and lives on its hatred of India. It doesn't do anything for its poor and its economy is bankrupt.

Balkanizing it will be good for its people - give them more freedom and better economic prospects instead of spending so much money on a large military and terror apparatus.

3. By suporting the separatist movements in Sindh,
Baluchistan and Pakhtoonistan. Plus making any financial aid contingent upon Pakistan giving wide autonomy to its provinces and on drastic reduction in military spending.

At some point, withholding economic aid will force a choice between guns and butter.

Pakistan has been balkanized before -- remember East Pakistan? It is now Bangladesh.

5. It was quite fast actually,,,,
Indian military and separatist forces defeated Pakistani military in 10 days and 91,000 Pakistani soldiers surrendered.

That was despite Nixon and Kissinger supporting the Pakistani military strongman.
