Lieberman: "I was deeply moved and inspired"
Source: connecticut post

"This is truly a great day for our blessed nation! I was deeply moved and inspired by President Obama's eloquent and stirring address. Now is the time to unite as a nation behind our new president's leadership and address the challenges facing our country at home and abroad," Lieberman said in a statement issued after the event.

On Monday night, he stood before hundreds of Connecticut residents here to celebrate the inauguration and pledged to them that he would "do everything" in his power to help Obama be one of he nation's "greatest and most successful presidents." It is the same pledge, Lieberman said he has made directly to Obama three times since he won the election.

"Obviously, I supported McCain, but everybody is excited about this inauguration. This is a barrier breaker and an extraordinary moment in our history. For an African-American to take office as the president enriches and ennobles our country," Lieberman said in a recent interview.

Lieberman's detractors scoff at his most recent turnaround in support of Obama as simply self-serving.

24. Lieberman and "deep" do not really belong in the same sentence.
Well, maybe "Lieberman is in deep shit" or something like that.

4. Hey, guess what.
Fuck Lieberman! He is a traitor to his party and a traitor to this country. Anyone that would embrace the ideology of fascism is a fucking traitor. Obama is far too nice with these proven assholes. How can a Jew become a Nazi? In doing so they betray their entire culture and history. Lieberman is the lowest of the low, worse even than Bush.

29. No Reality Check Required
Bush was an idiot, and most of his crap can be considered plain lack of reality.

Lieberman, on the other hand is an intelligent man who jumped in with both feet, and has no regrets.

So, whose is worse, the idiot who has no concept, or the intelligent man who knows better?

10. Is this the same man who claimed any Obama win would be a victory for "the terrorists?"
You'd expect he would be back home right now, putting plastic sheeting and duct tape over his house, getting ready for more of those terrifying attacks he anticipates from the scary "enemies," now that his country, in his view, is dead in the water.

Joe, go away. Stay away. You would have never won your last election without the dirty, underhande big, big turnout from the Republicans in Connecticut. The Democrats didn't want you.

11. That's him. His 2006 Senate campaign emphasized how he would help Ds take the White House in 08, but
then in 08 he endorsed McCain

Some people (namely, those with consciences) were also appalled that Joe used his Senate chairmanship to prevent hearings into the FEMA-Katrina fiasco

Joe earlier played a critical role in preventing D filibusters in the Senate

This man is truly pathetic. Cartoonish. Where was he, yesterday, by the way? Was he even invited to the luncheon at the Capitol after the swearing in? I hope not. Usually he misses no opp to get his ugly mug on camera, but miraculously he was nowhere in sight.

Hope he was told to keep a low profile. I saw John & Cindy McCain at the luncheon, and lots of footage of Al & Tipper Gore, even ole' Dan Quayle (remember him???), but nothing of turd-in-the-punchbowl Lieberman.

25. Joe hinted that Obama was a Marxist
NAPOLITANO: Hey Sen. Lieberman, you know Barack Obama, is he a Marxist as Bill Kristol says might be the case in todays New York Times? Is he an elitist like your colleague Hillary Clinton says he is?

LIEBERMAN: Well, you know, I must say thats a good question. I know him now for a little more than three years since he came into the Senate and hes obviously very smart and hes a good guy. I will tell ya that during this campaign, Ive learned some things about him, about the kind of environment from which he came ideologically. And I wouldntId hesitate to say hes a Marxist, but hes got some positions that are far to the left of me and I think mainstream America.
