Iraq bringing home Saddam yacht from France

BAGHDAD (AP) — The Iraqi government says it will tow Saddam Hussein's luxury yacht from France to the southern port of Basra after winning a legal dispute over its ownership.

The former dictator's 269-foot (82-meter) yacht is fitted with swimming pools, salons, a secret escape passage and a rocket-launching system.

Government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh says the Cabinet decided Tuesday to ask the Transport Ministry to tow the yacht to Basra.

He says the Finance Ministry will pay the lawyer's fees and expenses of the Greek company in charge of maintaining the yacht.
