U.S. Soldier Is Killed in Baghdad Blast

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- A roadside bomb exploded Monday in central Baghdad, killing a U.S. soldier and wounding another, the U.S. military said.

The victims were part of a three vehicle military police patrol from the 1st Armored Division when the blast occurred at 9:20 a.m. local time. There was no word on Iraqi casualties.
