Parking employees allege discrimination
Source: 9News

DENVER - An elite parking lot at Denver International Airport that gives VIP treatment to flyers is accused of treating some of its own employees like second-class citizens.

Twenty-one workers for Wally Park Off-Site Parking filed complaints Tuesday at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) claiming management discriminated against them because of their race and national origin.

They have all immigrated legally from Ethiopia.

"These individuals came to this country because they believed in the promise: the promise that in the United States of America, they would not be treated poorly because of the color of their skin or country of their national origin," said their attorney, Paula Greisen of the King & Greisen law firm. "Instead, they have been treated as second-class by management of Wally Park."

My parents and I have taken Wally Park in our business trips, and we see them work very, very hard at their jobs - we do appreciate them, but this comes to a surprise to us - if that is true, then I will boycott WallyPark until this is corrected.

1. It's a mixed bag isn't it?
Edited on Tue Dec-23-08 08:39 PM by MadMaddie
These employees like many employees who are legalhere are hard workers and deserve the right to integrate into the society. But there are many others who are not following the rules and getting jobs they shouldn't have,

Correction....sigh...maybe I need to clean my glasses

5. It's going to get a lot harder for immigrants, legal or otherwise,
to find and get jobs with the job market the way it is and so many Americans desperate for work.
