Warren, author of "The Purpose-Driven Life," says when he visited Syria recently he saw Christians and Jews in a near-routine existence, enjoying some privileges even Muslims don't receive within a governmental structure that formally allows for faith in Christ and adherence to the Torah.

The source of the story is Americablog - I suppose that is some right-wing website intended to deny truth from the American people?

Debbie Schlussel may not have a lot of credibility because of World Net Daily but just the same she seems to document a lot of what she puts out there. Including the matter of Isaam Fares. Apparently to the Bushes there are "good" terrorist supporters and "bad" terrorist supporters. The bad terrorist supporters get sent to Guantanamo. The good terrorist supporters get invited to dinner. And there he is. On the list of donors to the Clinton Foundation. Wonder if Hezbollah is on the list we haven't seen of the organizations funded by the Clinton Foundation.

When the mayor of Houston was confronted with the "rumors" about his former employer he said something about how he didn't pay attention to the personal life of his former employer. Bill White ran against a Republican. But won because the Republicans voted for him. Isaam Fares, after all, as the Houston Chronicle made a point of, was a friend of the Bushes. Never mind his support of Hezbollah. And all the Democrats, including the Jewish Democrats, saw was the (D) beside his name.
