Bill O'Reilly to end syndicated radio show

NEW YORK - Fox News Channel said popular cable TV host Bill O'Reilly will step down as the host of his syndicated talk radio show early next year.

"The Radio Factor" — which began in 2002 and runs on more than 400 radio stations, as well as satellite operator Sirius XM Radio Inc. — will end in the first quarter of 2009, Fox said late Thursday.

In a statement, O'Reilly said the workload has become too much, adding, "I can no longer give both TV and radio the time they deserve."

O'Reilly will continue hosting "The O'Reilly Factor" on the Fox News Channel and writing his weekly newspaper column.

21. Well, the way that Weiner-Savage was removed from TV was that MoveOn organized a huge boycott of his

sponsors. Unfortunately, last I knew, he's still on the radio. I was surfing radio stations once in my car when I ran across something I just couldn't believe. This guy gave out the home address and phone number of a black female lawyer that did something he didn't like. Jesus. Turned out it was Savage. He really needs to go away...

O'Reilly et al need to go away because of the dangerous lies that they spread and many people believe. My mother watches him, gives me crap because I don't watch "the news..."

One day she said that she didn't approve of stem cell research because they "kill children." When I said "what?!," I think she realized how idiotic that sounded...

I try not to discuss politics with her, but she will bring it up. I once asked her who was responsible for 9/11, fearing but expecting that she'd say Saddam Hussein. But her answer floored me. She said it was the Palestinians! Huh?! That's what you get if you watch FIXED News...

I think it was taken off the air in 2003. I tried to take part in the MoveOn "action" more than once, but couldn't force myself to sit through enough of his hatemongering to write about it. It was only when they wrote a letter that we could send that I was able to do it. IMHO, he's the worst, but there are a lot more of them out there...

Joe and Mika are taking over that 10 - noon slot that Curtis was babysitting. He may still be on in the 10 pm - 1am slot although there are apparently alot of changes being made at the NYC radio stations, so it will be interesting to see what the end result will be between WABC and WOR.
