Karzai calls for end date to Afghan war

The international community must set a timeline to end the war in Afghanistan, says - President Hamid Karzai, reports The Associated Press.

Speaking to a delegation from the United Nation Security Council, Karzai said if no deadline is set, Afghanistan has the right to negotiate the conflict's end, according to the report from The AP.

Karzai also told the delegation today that aerial bombings by international military forces and searches of Afghan homes must stop.

The Afghan president says not enough attention is being paid to militant bases outside of Afghanistan - a common reference to dangerous tribal areas in Pakistan.

Karzai seems to be concerned with Afghan national interests. Who does he think he is? That bastard wants to negotiate an end to the killing.

This wouldn't seem to bode well for Obama's Afghanistan policies, which are essentially Bush's war, only more so.
