Political strategist Carville to teach at Tulane
8 mins ago

NEW ORLEANS – James Carville has joined the faculty of Tulane University and his first course will be on the 2008 presidential election.

In a Tulane news release, the university says the political strategist who led Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign will bring in nationally recognized journalists, politicians and pollsters to speak to students.

Carville is a Louisiana native who is well known not only for his Democratic political campaigns but also as a commentator on CNN. Carville and his wife, Republican campaign strategist Mary Matalin, recently relocated their family to New Orleans from Washington. His course on the 2008 race will be offered during the spring 2009 semester.

10. As I recall, the Student Center has a fast-food court
anchored by, of all things, an Arby's, which probably explains why Rahm Emanuel will not be teaching the seminar.

That does not, of course, mean there aren't cafeterias in the dorms, which I never visited; I was an evening student in what they call "University College". Though I never did get a job out of it, it did get me a coveted airshift at 'TUL...

This is quite a turn of events for Carville, who once wore his purple LSU sweats on a TV interview! Maybe I'll end up teaching at Harvard someday...

NEW ORLEANS -- Tulane University has added a familiar face to its teaching staff.

Political strategist and Louisiana native James Carville has joined the school's political science faulty staff.

His first course begins next semester and will examine the 2008 presidential election.

The LSU graduate said he's looking forward to getting back into the classroom. He said some famous names will be stopping by during the course.

This spring Carville and his wife, Mary Matalin, bought a house in uptown New Orleans.

9. I bet the first few rows are always empty because students are afraid to sit too close to him.
