Triple Baghdad blasts kill dozens
Source: BBC News

At least 28 people have been killed by three bombs that exploded just moments apart in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The first two blasts were car bombs and then a suicide bomber detonated his charges in the crowd that had gathered to help, police say.

Another 68 people were injured in the blasts, which took place during morning rush hour in the Shia area of Kasra.

North of Baghdad, in Baquba, a female suicide car bomber attacked a US-allied militia checkpoint, killing six people.

3. That could mean
that the youngsters whose parents were killed at earlier dates are now retaliating against those who continue to support the USA's occupation. If so it's a situation which can only go further downhill.

7. "The Surge" was largely a fig leaf to cover US complicity in the ethnic cleansing of Baghdad
And, of course, arming and paying the Anbar "terrorists" who had previously been attacking US forces.

8. Double bombings kill 31 in Baghdad (UK Press Association)
More than 30 people were killed in Baghdad when a suicide bomber blew themselves up amid a crowd that had gathered in the aftermath of an earlier explosion.

The twin blasts - the deadliest in the city in months - came moments apart during the morning rush hour in the mostly Shiite Kasrah section of the Azamiyah district in the northern part of the Iraqi capital.

Police said the first explosion damaged a minibus carrying young girls to school. The second happened when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive belt in the middle of a crowd that had gathered around the vehicle.

The Interior Ministry said 31 people died and 71 were wounded ...
