House GOP Exploring Deeper Spending Cuts
House GOP Exploring Deeper Spending Cuts

WASHINGTON (AP) - Top House Republicans said Wednesday they will try cutting spending throughout the federal budget this year, ruling out no potential targets.

Emerging from a long strategy session with no specific decisions, GOP leaders and rank-and-file lawmakers who attended the meeting did say they were unlikely to cull savings from Social Security and Medicare. They said the party wants to display its devotion to fiscal responsibility this election year.

"We're going to look at all spending that's out there. Nothing is sacred," said House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill.

"Everything should be on the table," said Rep. Michael Castle, R-Del., a leader of House moderates.

5. Yeah, it's an election year after all. And people are waking up.
They are starting to realize that Republicans are all big liars. They are starting to realize that the 'tax and spend' moniker Republicans have smeared Democrats with for the last 20 years is actually more appropriate for Republicans.

7. The Republicans have had control of the House for a decade
They have had control of all three branches of government for three years now. They are demonstrating to the world just how their economic policies actually work. The world is not impressed and neither am I. Everything they have been saying for a decade has been Proved Wrong . They are without doubt the worst at financial matters of any Congress and Administration in recent history. I won't even bother mentioning foreign affairs. Can you really fool so many people all of the time?

11. That doesn't matter and you know it
all that the typical repukkk voters cares about is a party that hates niggers, queers, women & anybody that is not a fundamentalist nut case.

(I was just using that repukkk language here. I hope your not offended)

8. This is phase 2 of their strategy
First create a budget crisis with irresponsible tax cuts, then use that as a reason to get rid of everything you dont like.

9. ruling out no potential targets
Great!

Start with the missing trillion from DoD.
Then cut their budget back to that of one
appropriate for Defense, not aggression.

Then tax the uber rich progressively,
restore corporate responsibility through
taxation (like exporting jobs should cost
at least 75% of the profit advantage in taxes).

Presto! a much better looking bottom line.
