Kremlin critic (and Chess legend Garry) Kasparov backs Obama Updated at 3:23 PM
Source: NEWS AU

CHESS legend turned Kremlin critic Garry Kasparov has thrown his weight behind the Democrat Barack Obama as the next US president, saying the country needs "change".

"Barack Obama is the right person in the right place at the right time," Kasparov said today on the sidelines of a chess tournament in the French Mediterranean island of Corsica.

"The United States like the rest of the world is in need of change," the former world chess champion said.

He was speaking as the epic duel between White House front-runner Senator Obama and his Republican rival John McCain entered its final full week ahead of the November 4 election.

9. Unfortunately, this is cultural
When you grow up with this stuff, it's hard to change.
Same with the Republicanism: most Russian immigrants in the US vote Republican.
One of the main reasons: they equate Democrats with Communists (whom they strongly dislike)
Plus, a lot of them are ethnic jews and they want to kill as many arabs as possible.

It's a sad fact, no matter how much I try to change it
(I grew up in the Soviet Union, but I am in the minority among my Russian friends.)
