Schwarzenegger Says Frustrated by Execution Delay
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=578&ncid=578&e=10&u=/nm/20040210/ts_nm/crime_california_execution_dc

<snip>
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (news - web sites) expressed frustration on Tuesday that a convicted killer won a last-minute stay of execution while the man's supporters said the stay was needed to present new evidence in the case.

Kevin Cooper had been scheduled to die at one minute past midnight on Tuesday for hacking two parents, their daughter and her friend to death in 1983. Just hours before the scheduled lethal injection, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals by a 9 to 2 vote granted a request to stay the execution and the U.S. Supreme Court (news - web sites) declined to overturn that decision.

"Cooper is either guilty as sin or he was framed by the police. There is no middle ground," 9th Circuit Judge Barry Silverman wrote on Monday in an opinion that concurred with the majority.

But Schwarzenegger, who believes in Cooper's guilt and had denied an appeal for clemency, said, "I am confident that our judicial process will ultimately bring finality to this case. To the survivor and families of the victims in this case, I share your frustration that closure to this chapter of your lives has been delayed."

2. Anauld needs to suck it up and get over it. He will have more
opportunities to either commute or let death sentences be carried out.

3. god forbid we thoroughly examine all avenues
in our investigation into the man's alleged guilt, eh arnie? wouldn't it be better to be really sure, rather than pretty sure, when he goes under the needle?

4. Aaahnold says, " I Love the smell of Death!" Reason denied him.
I'm sure even bush*, the friend of Death was disappointed too and made a condolence call to Schwarzenegger.

5. Maybe AHH-nuld should talk to former Governor Ryan?
After they compare notes on how to exploit The Office for fun and profit, Ryan could tell Herr Gropenator a few things about killing people legally....

14. How is someone born in 1947 Germany a Nazi?
Did he take an oath at birth? I am bringing this up not to defend Arnold but to point out how revolting and devisive it is to use such terms when they don't apply.
Would you say "Once a klansman...."? Or does our side simply get a pass??

16. Oh, I forgot, all Austrian's are Nazi's. What deep thinking that is.
And you should take something for that cold, it appears to have stuffed up your head and thought process.

I did not want to send that message.
I honestly don't know what the whole Arnold's past fuss is about, as from my distant viewpoint his own politics are bad enough.

Edit:
Besides, you should really eat less red meat :hi: .

20. He was AWOL from the Austrian army
There's an old joke:
What's the difference between Germans and Austrians?
Germans used to be Nazis. Austrians still are.

25. Sorry for the confusion...
It was meant to describe a mode of thought, not a party affiliation. Since I only have the information about the behavior types from my parents (wrong side of the war), I can only relate the behaviors, and those include a more than rabid adherence to the system (never wrong, just like * and company state so clearly).

8. maybe they can borrow Arnold's groping investigators?
sure, he is busy 24/7 trying to find the "real" groper, but I'm sure they can take a day or two off to help look at this evidence...

I don't think he realized, when he TOOK the job, that he couldn't personally blow up death row inmates with a RPG himself.

19. Lots of evidence of innocence. Ahnuld blew his first big decision. ech.

I'm in the Bay area where Pacifica Radio has focused on evidence that was suppressed in this guy's trial that would have gotten him off. He is still a bad sick dude, though.

A victim had blonde hair clutched in her death grip.Prisoner is black.

Waitress at local bar describes two guys coming in with blood on their clothes, one of them blonde.

Whistle-blower's taped interview describing hearing police co-workers discussing the frame-up of the prisoner.

Doesn't sound like 'beyond a reasonable doubt' to justify execution. But then I think the overall fallibility of the justice system rules out the death penalty.

At least the judges are giving him the chance to prove if he is innocent. I guess he thinks he's God too just like *. Maybe Schwarzenegger should be given a death sentence for the terrible movies he makes.
