McClellan Endorses Obama
Source: Huffington Post

NEW YORK Scott McClellan, President Bush's former press secretary, says he is backing Barack Obama for president.

McClellan made the endorsement during a taping of Comedian D.L. Hughley's new show that is premiering on CNN this weekend. The former Bush administration official said he wanted to support the candidate that has the best chance for changing the way Washington works and getting things done.

He's the second former Bush administration figure this week to publicly back Obama, following former Secretary of State Colin Powell. McClellan caused bitterness among his former co-workers with a tell-all book that criticized Bush.

24. Yes he has one ...
The key is that he actually has a soul. You could always tell because he wasn't very smooth at delivering all those lines. He was always uneasy and I've always read that as him not liking what he was doing.

Tony Snow ... he's a soul-less bastard who has no problem whatsoever as lying to the American public. He doesn't regard them as worth being honestly informed. To him, we're all just troglodites that should know and do what we're told.

Good for Scotty.

The lying sack of cute is really quite mesmerizing. I think this is a new play in the Republican playbook. They're really just copying a play by newsrooms. A pretty face delivering bullshit is quite mesmerizing.

Not no more!!!

I am sure that Scottie and Colin Powell will be given the cold shoulder by the r/w for the rest of their lives. Republicans really know how to hold a grudge and they are very, very vindictive. Most of them could really benefit from years of therapy.

18. His press conferences were affectionately called "pig roasts" for a reason...
Edited on Thu Oct-23-08 08:37 PM by ReadTomPaine
He was the worst liar in Washington and clearly uncomfortable with his job in the Bush administration. His face would get red, he'd stammer and sweat, he'd break eye contact.. it was like watching a toddler with cookie crumbs all over his clothes. He also had the misfortune of coming after that masterful bastard Ari Fleischer, who is one of Washington's most gifted liars.

I'll never forget the press conference where McClellan resigned. Bush had a look on his face like an eager hog, he was relishing every moment of Scottie's acute discomfort. From that moment onward, I knew this endorsement was coming.

I hated McClellan for so long for his role in the corrupt Bu$h WH that it'll take more than a tell-all and an endorsement to restore his karmic balance. Maybe if he testifies against Bu$h/Cheney at a Hague war crimes trial...

43. I am genuinely happy and surpised about this.
I know its fashionable to hate Rethugs and especially former Shrub administration ones but what is wrong with realizing you were wrong and then man you worked for, were friends with was a total A-hole and and idiot? Some people have been diehard Rethugs until Bush came along and are now voting for Obama. I don't think its just publicity he wants, perhaps his whole way of thinking has changed and when you see Bush and from the inside you know just how bad it really is. The Goldwaters, Eisenhowers, one of Richard Nixon's daughters. All Republicans, all turning away from the party. Scott, welcome to the light.
