Indianapolis - Sen. Barack Obama spoke to supporters in downtown Indianapolis Thursday at the American Legion Mall, emphasizing his economic policies and rebutting criticism from Sen. John McCain on taxes.

Obama encouraged supporters to vote early.

"I want everybody who is able and willing to go vote today. If not today, then vote tomorrow. The point is you can vote now," said Obama. "You'll walk a little taller having voted early."

Before Obama's appearance, Rep. Andre Carson asked the crowd to join him on a march to the City-County Building to vote after the rally. Democratic candidates and lawmakers joined Obama at the rally, including gubernatorial candidate Jill Long Thompson, attorney general candidate Linda Pence,

Obama acknowledged the monuments on the American Legion Mall as well as the sacrifice of 241 Marines killed in a Beirut attack 25 years ago today.

1. It will take a genius to balance health care and economy in a depression.
Barack will be tested but he will have a strong majority to get things done. Good luck to us all.

2. We hear so much about affordable health care for everyone,
we also need 'acceptable' health care in America. MRSA is infesting our communities but there's not much being done to get a handle on it, children should not be dying for a disease you used to only come in contact with in a hospital or nursing home. According to the CDC 65% of hospital census has MRSA ( Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureas ). Profit care has replaced patient care, even the state of Tennessee says "horrifying patient care" is considered "acceptable patient/health care".... http://www.wisecountyissues.com
