Indianapolis - Sen. Barack Obama spoke to supporters in downtown Indianapolis Thursday at the American Legion Mall, emphasizing his economic policies and rebutting criticism from Sen. John McCain on taxes.
Obama encouraged supporters to vote early.
"I want everybody who is able and willing to go vote today. If not today, then vote tomorrow. The point is you can vote now," said Obama. "You'll walk a little taller having voted early."
Before Obama's appearance, Rep. Andre Carson asked the crowd to join him on a march to the City-County Building to vote after the rally. Democratic candidates and lawmakers joined Obama at the rally, including gubernatorial candidate Jill Long Thompson, attorney general candidate Linda Pence,
Obama acknowledged the monuments on the American Legion Mall as well as the sacrifice of 241 Marines killed in a Beirut attack 25 years ago today.
