Clinton backers by her side, Palin makes pitch to women voters (CNN)
Source: CNN

HENDERSON, Nevada (CNN) — Flanked by a quintet of former Hillary Clinton supporters, Sarah Palin on Tuesday made her most direct appeal to female voters since kicking off her vice presidential campaign in August.

With polls showing Palin's unfavorable ratings among women rising over the last month, the Alaska governor looked to tap into any lingering tensions left over from the drawn-out Democratic primary battle — a fight that left many Clinton supporters disappointed. ...

6. Thanks Rush!
For convincing McCain there was an army of angry women out there ready to jump on board the straightalk express if you picked a woman...well maybe if you picked Susan Collins or Kay Baily Hutchinson but their idea that reproductive choice is private is a no no in your party so you were left with this batshit insane twit.

I have serious concerns about those very few of Hillary's financial backers that have thrown their lot with Palin/McCain. What planet are they from?

8. I guess those 5 former Clinton backers did not hear Palin for the 4th time tell what a VP does.
How embarassing it probably was when they got home and watched her interview on CNN say that the VP is in charge of the Senate.

33. Outside of de Rothschild the other women are members of
NOW. It appears their only interest is having a woman in one of the top offices whether or not they are qualified. Narrow minded obssesive thinking, I'd say.

9. Pathetic
"Our opponents think that they have the women's vote all locked up, which is a little presumptuous," Palin said. "Little presumptuous, since only our side has a woman on the ticket."

"You've got to ask yourself, why was Senator Hillary Clinton not even vetted by the Obama campaign? Why did it take 24 years, an entire generation from the time Geraldine Ferraro made her pioneering bid, until the next time that a woman was asked to join a national ticket?"

Why wasn't Clinton vetted by the Obama campaign? What are you talking about? Why weren't you vetted by the guy who stuck your sorry ass on his ticket?

17. My lifelong Repo neighbor can't stand her. She liked McCain, but can't understand Palin...
I keep telling her to 'stretch the envelope' and vote Obama. I say it shows poor judgment that McCain selected her when he's likely to kick the bucket any time.

She's actually seriously considering voting Obama. This was when I knew for sure that Palin was as bad a choice as she seemed to me when she was announced.

This is my neighbor who voted for Abramoff linked Repo Senator Conrad Burns. She stuck by him even as it looked like he might be indicted (he wasn't, unfortunately. But he did lose to Dem Jon Tester.) She sees herself as a Republican. Yet she can't stand Palin. Says she's crazy.

Palin was a god send for the good guys (us) IMHO. And I'm an agnostic.

15. That kind of rhetoric is very risky for the McCain campaign,
particularly when one considers the level of cynicism with which the public views their tactics. I can see a lot of people saying, "oh, now they're playing the gender card to distract us, since they tried the terrorism card didn't work."

The fact that it's roughly the same five people over and over again should tell you that it's just five kooks and not a particularly large trend.

On Edit: She's still pushing the "vetting" thing with two weeks to go? Wow, that's lame to the extreme.
