RNC out of Wisconsin, Maine; focuses on red states
By JIM KUHNHENN – 9 minutes ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Republican National Committee is halting presidential ads in Wisconsin and Maine, turning much of its attention to usually Republican states where GOP nominee John McCain shows signs of faltering.

The party's independent ad operation is doubling its budget to about $10 million and focusing on crucial states such as Colorado, Missouri, Indiana and Virginia where Democrat Barack Obama has established a foothold, according to a Republican strategist familiar with presidential ad placements.

Florida and North Carolina have also been in the RNC ad mix. Pennsylvania is the only Democratic leaning swing state apparently left in the party's ad campaign.

The shift in advertising resources suggests that the RNC has decided to focus on defending reliably Republican-voting states against Obama's onslaught of advertising. Flush with money, Obama is outspending the joint efforts of the Republican Party and the McCain campaign by more than 2-1.

Sorry to hear that they still plan on playing in my state of Pennsylvania. Haven't seen a McSame ad here in days, though... Only a handful of 527 ads.

8. McCain quietly pulling out of Pennsylvania
I heard on CNN that McCain is quietly pulling out of Pennsylvania but they don't want to look like losers and make their base more despondent. Also I imagine they want to make sure Obama keeps spending money there.

15. This morning was the first time in weeks that no McCain ads ran during the local news.
Usually i could count on at least three during the half hour I watch every morning.

19. I heard his ugly "terrorist" ad here twice on the radio in Philadelphia today
on 2 different stations (both CBS affiliates - 1 news and 1 oldies) - one as recently as this afternoon on the way home from work. Fortunately Obama is running a radio ad that is a variation on his earlier "Lose" ad, every hour on the hour, and this one addresses the Ayers issue and how Ayers was funded by the Republican establishment.. and then it reiterates how all that he has left is smears. Plus Obama is rotating that with 2 other ads - a new healthcare one and a stem cell research one.

I wish McKKKlan WOULD get the hell out of PA. HIS EPIC FAIL CAMPAIGN IS FINISHED!

12. I would love
for McCain to leave here (Fla) alas tis but a wetdream. The northern part of this state is loaded with idiots. And the panhandle should be renamed South Alabama.

31. Yeah, wonder if the secessionist movement might be successful
there.. Let them have it! A new country to include Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Palin-land? It's beautiful land, would be a shame to have it gone from the USA, but maybe the rednecks could all move there and leave the more moderates to have the remainder of the US??

35. I'd rather take back all the country
Wasn't too long ago people were calling for the south to secede again. Now it looks like Va and maybe NC are going to go our way, maybe with a bit more time we can just keep prying these states off the red side.

Marginalize the bastards everywhere!

The enemy's main defenses are breached, his reserves are all committed, and he's trying to keep his fighting withdrawal from becoming a full-on rout.

Press the attack! No quarter! :-)

21. They're not trying to win. They're trying not to lose by an embarrassing margin.
Otherwise they'd consolidate their efforts and spending in the swing states and not in their safe states.

26. that's pretty cool
we visited friends in maine this summer and were favorably impressed by the # of obama signs even tho we did not think of maine, being rural, as an area that would be favorable to a black candidate

we learned something good about human nature!

29. Cut and run from Michigan, Wisconsin, can I drive you to the Dakota border?
They sure as hell didn't go to Illinois, so that means they are here in Minnesota. Negative TV commercials and flat out lying mailers prove that they are. I wish they would just go away. Can't we give the conservatives Idaho and Utah and be done with them?

I don't see much advertising for anyone here except Cornyn whom I hate. Obaba has adds but really not much fot McCain.I wish he could have come here after Ike and tended the roots a bit, but we understand. We really like him down here. He'll carry Harris county (Houston).
