Federal appeals court rules Ohio must check voter registrations
Source: Associated Press

COLUMBUS -- A federal appeals court on Tuesday ordered Ohio's top elections official to set up a system by Friday to verify the eligibility of voters registered since Jan. 1 and make the information available to the state's 88 county election boards.

The full 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati upheld a lower court ruling that Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner must use other government records to check thousands of new voters for registration fraud.

A three-judge panel of the 6th Circuit had disagreed last week, but the full court's ruling overturns that decision.

Ohio Republicans had sued Brunner, a Democrat. Her spokesman had no immediate comment Tuesday.

1. Caging, with the full support of the judiciary. Now that's what I call a real
coup.

"About 666,000 Ohioans have registered to vote since January, with many doing so before the contested Democratic primary election last March between Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Since then, Ohio Republicans have filed a series of challenges to the registrations and Brunner's administration of election rules. They have helped voters file lawsuits against local boards of election over registration rules, absentee ballot requests and a week long period that allowed registration and voting on the same day.

(Snip)

Tuesday's order directs Brunner to verify new registrations by comparing that information with data from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles or the Social Security Administration.

Ohio Republican Chairman Bob Bennett accused Brunner of pursuing a partisan agenda and said, "Her delay in providing this matching system leaves little time for election officials to act on questionable registrations.""

Brunner is slowing down the republican caging. How dare she. Doesn't she know the judiciary as well as the executive branch have turned into a cesspool of repulicon corruption.

3. "Perfect Match"
"Perfect match" -- they will look at your social security records, your motor vehicle records and any time you've had any interaction with the government and if there is any information on your voter registration that is different than the information on another government record that they find, they remove you from the voting rolls.

"For example, if I registered as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and yet my motor vehicle license said Robert Frances Kennedy Jr. I'd be removed from the rolls. If your initial is different, if you leave an initial out, if you leave a "Jr." out, if you leave a hyphen out in your name. And what they've done is a study in New York that said 80% of the errors are errors that were done by state clerks who are taking down this information. And particularly immigrant communities that people tend to vote Democratic, people have names … spell Muhammad with an "o" instead of a "u". "

4. Why Is This Even In Federal Court
The US Supreme Court in Bush v. Gore went through some contortions is establishing federal jurisdiction based on the 14th Amendment equal protection clause, then immediately said the decision could not be used as the basis for any other decision. So why does the 6th US Circuit Court have standing to make a ruling in this matter. Elections are a States Rights issue and clearly spelled out as such in the US Constitution. What registration fraud are these other records supposed to expose? About the only thing we can be sure of is that these other records will disenfranchise thousands legal voters on minor technicalities like a misspelled street name and that is the sole purpose of this bogus court ruling. That, my friends, is not fraud. This court ruling is fraud.
