"Whites without college degrees favor McCain by 17 points..." This is the only group where McCain leads. If you're not in this group, and you favor McCain, you should probably rethink...everything (if you are in this group and you favor McCain, the Republicans are fooling you and you should feel bad about yourself).

I live in northeast corner of PA.

it was actually interesting, because two of the questions required a narrative answer, not a multiple choice.

-- Were there any news stories in the past two weeks which have influenced or reinforced your view of Obama-Biden ?

my answer was "yes, how Obama is responding to the current bail-out scam has reinforced my view of Obama. He's taking a calm approach, gathering information and seeking to understand the problem - not jumping on the first band wagon to roll by. He wants to know as much as he can about an issue before proposing a solution or course of action. This indicates a calm and deliberative approach to leadership, not a rush in and start firing or bombing as a first choice. He's been consistent through out the primaries and into the official campaign season."

"Yes, where do I start? How about with the 83 lobbyists working in his campaign, of which many were lobbyists for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae - how is this different from the bush administration and how does this clean up washington? All the bush people working on his campaign, including Rove - this just shows McCain is going to continue the same Bush policies that put us in this mess in the first place. Palin is kept under wraps, she only appears at tightly scripted and controlled events - and this is just like the bush-cheney campaigns. Toss in McCain's approach to problems seems to be shoot first, and then keep back tracking or flip-flopping to find a palatable position. Don't bother asking me where he stands on any one issue - it changes several times on any given day. He just throws mud. He may have been a maverick at one time, but now he's just part of the old boys network. And then there's the scrambly way of trying to position Palin as being 'ready to be VP' - give me a break. Seeing Russia from your back porch, and shaking hands with a couple of world leaders doesn't mean she has the temperment, knowledge or ability to lead. Then there's the handling of Troopergate - she's given more excuses than I can count, the McCain campaign have sent so many operatives and lawyers to Alaska to squash this, that I wouldn't be surprised if they have out done bush's operations in Florida back in 2000. The only difference between a bush-cheney white house and a mccain-palin one, is the name on the door."

As a point of comparison, neither of the last two Democratic nominees -- John F. Kerry in 2004 or Al Gore in 2000 -- recorded support above 50 percent in a pre-election poll by the Post and ABC News.

20. I of course am quite pleased with this but...

...the repukes will do SOMETHING in order to change those polls back closer to a statistical dead heat. Odds are, whatever they spring on us won't be pretty! I'm concerned that another 9-11 style attack is in the mix with the purpose of playing to mCain's one (perceived) strength: defense against terrorism. (I believe this is the only issue that mCcain currently leads Obama in the polls on).
Such an attack would distract the electorate away from the other issues enough to get those polls back to even or worse again.

It would also serve as a smoke screen to hide further thievery of our $$ and of our democracy. I'm thinking that these bastards will try to get as much 'loot' as they can before the election just in case Senator Obama wins. I think that the $700 Billion 'bail out' is an example of this pre-election looting. IMO they would not think twice about setting off something nasty to distract us from that $700 billion theft they are attempting. If mCcain gets the win BECAUSE of this next nastiness, that will just be icing on the cake.
