McCain says Obama is 'making up facts'
Source: Politico

.. McCain has been under fire for taking liberties with the charges in his TV commercials, but now he says Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) is the one trying to mislead voters.

"Let’s have some straight talk," McCain said in Vienna, Ohio. "Sen. Obama is not interested in the politics of hope. He’s interested in his political future, and that is why he is hurling in insults and making up facts about his record. Today he claimed that the congressional stimulus package was his idea. That’s news to those of us in Congress who supported it. Sen. Obama didn’t even show up to vote. ...

... Obama said earlier Tuesday in Golden, Colo.: "In January, I outlined a plan to help revive our faltering economy, which formed the basis for a bipartisan stimulus package that passed the Congress.

"In February of 2006, I introduced legislation to stop mortgage transactions that promoted fraud, risk or abuse," Obama added. "Sen. McCain did nothing."

3. Hope it's not true. The "lying liars" meme only works if . . .
Obama doesn't.

4. Oh no! Obama's another liar. Just like that Al Gore fella!
:sarcasm:

The sad and frightening thing is that unlike Obama, McCain has the corporate media on his side. It should be relatively easy for the folks who sold you the connection between Saddam Hussein and 9/11 to convince you that Obama is "making up facts."

What amazes me is the Right's pathological ability to shamelessly project their most offensive qualities onto their opponents.

7. OMG. This is UNBELIEVABLE

(1)He is so so so so so confused. Actually, Obama and Sen. Dick Durbin co-sponsored the STOP FRAUD ACT in April of '07 reintroduced from previous the year. It went to committee, but didn't go anywhere else.
(20 And not only did Obama promote his Congressional stimulus package in early '08, he also talked of a second package this summer which the Repubs. are fighting against. BUT, now get this, according to ThinkProgress.org, McCain MISSED the vote on the February stimulus package, he deliberately did not leave his plane in time to vote (while others did) and his advisor said he would have voted against it anyway! He is such a liar!!!!

8. a little transference there JohnnyMclame? doesn't take to recognize he's actually....
talking about himself. "Sen. (McCain) is not interested in the politics of hope. He’s interested in his political future, and that is why he is hurling in insults and making up facts about his record."

I'm sick of self-ignorant delusional power hungry RepubLIARcans, and their rabid RW slime machine.

9. Right on
I agree with rufustfirefly. That is so sadly true. However I
think the only one keeping it real is Larry King. I think
he's the only one playing fair. I so can't stand that
republican guy on Hannity & Kolmes. He is so annoying and
seems like a real jerk.
