SC Dem chief says sorry for Palin-abortion comment

South Carolina's Democratic Party chairwoman said Wednesday that Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's top qualification seems to be not having had an abortion. She later apologized.

In an interview posted on the political Web site Politico, Chairwoman Carol Fowler said Republican John McCain picked a running mate "whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn't had an abortion."

Fowler later apologized, saying she made the statement during an interview about single-issue voters. .more

3. IMO, you cannot be a good parent and a high pressure executive.
Not the parent of an infant. I am personally opposed to putting most Down syndrome people into care facilities. One of the most valuable friends I have ever had suffered from Down syndrome and there are big rewards for loving and caring for them. I hope her child doesn´t get institutionalized.

;-) Bypassing 2 top-notch neo-natal units AFTER breaking to fly for HOURS (disregarding the plans of all of the other passengers) to get to Wasilla, where there are NO such amenities? :freak: Yuo, yup!

Cuz that's pretty dangerous territory for those of us who spent a long time defending that relationship as private and beyond society's purview.
