What are we doing here?

It's almost like we're trying to lose this election.

5. It's time for this discussion!
I see nothing wrong with the comment.

McCain and Palin are making this election about abortion by their actions.

We need to respond.

And you think the Wal-Mart shopping, pick up driving yokels in middle america are going to think that?

I don't.

We need to stop giving the repugs ammunition to play every night on the news.

7. Wow.
So you are saying we need to respect the point of view of people you call by disparaging names? Is that it?

8. Well, there's the news cycle for tomorrow....
You're going to have every news show bringing every Obama official on having them denounce that statement as not being representative of the campaign.

Even though it didn't come from Obama or his direct staff that gaff has just thrown off any momentum he picked up from today.

9. WalMart shoppers?
the truth is I've known a lot more chistianists who've had to get abortions because of the stigma than I do good liberal girls who were raised with birth control on their parents' teenage talk agenda. I don't normally bring this up, because I was brought up better than to judge others and tell them what to do and I respected these young women's choices. What I didn't respect was that the next year, they were back to voting anti-choice. There's a real lapse in mental ability there.

This is a bold statement from Fowler and I dig it.

As for the WalMart shoppers whom you disparage as being insulted by this for some reason, I don't get it. Why would they be insulted? Many women enjoy having control over their own bodies. Not all WalMart shoppers are out of touch with feminism by any stretch of the imagination. Remember, even WalMart went green. Who were they catering to with that move?

Who are these WalMArt shoppers anyway? If you mean the fundies, we lost them at hello. Though many Christians are with Obama and certainly, Jesus was a liberal, as we all know.

cheers.

11. Very Dumb Remark
This may be the sort of thing you can joke about with your friends, but it is NOT the kind of thing that ought to be uttered by those whose remarks can and will end up as sound bytes on tv. There are plenty of legitimate reasons why Palin is unqualified to be VP or even Governor.

14. Actually, I said something very close to this soon after the Palin pick...
I said I wasn't clear as to how she qualifies as a good mother, considering. Is it just because none of her children have died of exposure or starvation?

15. What I would like to know is why she kept her last
pregnancy a secret from everyone, including her family. She went to extremes to hide it. Why? Why did she travel to a safe hospital, probably staffed by her loyalists, and ignore all hospitals that were equipped with neo natal care facilities. Why? Did she intend to farm this Down's syndrome child out at some point and deny she ever had him? This boggles the mind. Why on earth would this woman try to keep her pregnancy a secret from even her close family or co-workers?
