Biden says he looks forward to debate with Palin
Source: Associated Press

WASHINGTON - Democrat Joe Biden says he's debated "an awful lot of tough, smart women" throughout his career and next month's vice presidential debate with Republican Sarah Palin will be no exception. But he'd like to know where she stands on issues.

"She's a smart, tough politician, so I think she's going to be very formidable," Biden told NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday.

The Democratic senator from Delaware and the Republican governor of Alaska are scheduled to debate Oct. 2 at Washington University in St. Louis.

Biden, serving his sixth term in Congress, said, "There's a lot of very tough, smart women in the United States Senate I debate every day." So, he said, "It's not new" to be going up against Palin. He also mentioned his wife, Jill, who has a Ph.D.

Asked whether he'd debate Palin differently than he would Republicans Mitt Romney or Tom Ridge, two former governors who figured into speculation about John McCain's running mate, Biden said the only difference is that he knows their positions on issues.

"I have no idea what her policies are. I assume they're the same as John's. I just don't know," he said of Palin.

Biden said she delivered a great speech to the Republican National Convention last week in St. Paul, Minn., but "her silence on the issues was deafening.

"She didn't mention a word about health care, a word about the environment, a word about the middle class. They never parted her lips ... so I don't know where she is on those things."

1. What will happen:
Biden will kick her to the curb, then up and down the street and back to the curb again.

And all the pundits will remark how well Sarah held up and she will gain in the polls.

Don't even know if I can watch.

2. The fix is in. No matter what happens the media script is already
written. As long as Palin can speak OK, the pundits will be praising her as though she's the best debater in history.

3. Obama and Biden are gonna eat
McPalin's lunch AND make them pay the tab. I don't care how much prep she does or how biased the M$M, those two don't stand a chance. Let the slaughter begin!

4. I wouldn't bet on it. Every sensible indication is that Obama and Biden should
win their debates. But you can never underestimate the stupidity of the American public. The public doesn't want who performs best in the debates. The public wants someone they "like".

I want to be a Canadian.

5. The bar is so low...
That all Phalin has to do is avoid crying or passing out.

The only way the media will acknowledge an inevitable Biden victory, is for Joe to get Phalin in a Lloyd Bentsen style trap. Biden could do it, but whether or not the media will portray it as such is unlikely.

7. she needs to really memorize the gop talking points well
when you consider the conventions were viewed by 35-38 million people - the debates viewers could top 45 million easy

people are tuned in and paying alot more attention than they have in the past, there is alot riding on this election. the VP debates were never a big factor before - however with carribou barbie as Mrs. GOPer Beauty Queen, the VP debates will be watched with even more intensity

she'll need more than fluff and a pair of designer eyeglasses

8. Such a gentleman
The only thing I worry about is, when he does kick her ass (still as gentlemanly as possible), she'll start screaming "Foul!" and the media will say he was too mean to her. Therefore, she wins. Watch. :eyes:

9. Both Gore and Kerry mopped the floor with Bush* ....But...
Not according to the Liberal Media.....Bush* was compared to Churchhill and Lincoln. I am certain Palin will be compared to Thatcher etc...Facts just don't seem to apply anymore..

10. "Gov. Palin, as mayor of Wasilla, you proposed banning books from the town library."
"My question to you is this: As Vice President, what books would you have banned from the Library of Congress?"

13. Better yet...
Gov. Palin, what books have you read in the last year? We know nothing about her except she goes to a neo-pentecostal church, shoots a lot, has nice legs, is a ruthless politician, and has a big family. What of her educational background?

11. Biden DOES KNOW

But it's smart to play it this way. We need the debates to happen, that's where Palin will be exposed so long as the questions are legitimate.

14. the best thing....
....Biden and Obama can do is IGNORE palin, everywhere, all the time....treat her like she doesn't exist while dramatically increasing the strong-arm attacks against mcsame....the guy is scum, stop treating him like a hero!

....bushco and mcsame have been picking our pockets and lying to us for over 30 year....it's time the American people were reminded of it hourly....and it's also time to create some 10 pound lies with an ounce of embedded, defensible truth and start heaving them at that son-of-a-bitch mcsame....do it like the repugs do, only better....

....Obama and Biden will do well in their 'debates' if they don't pussyfoot around with the fascist repug agenda and go after mcsame relentlessly while selling our Middle-Class benefit package....if we're going to be 'nice', we're going to lose....

....hey Joe, the way to handle palin, is by hammering mcsame....make her defend that indefensible prick....
