Obama-Biden camp turns reporters' gag into attack on Palin
Source: CNN

... group of reporters covering the vice presidential nominee brought a cardboard cut-out of Sen. John McCain aboard Biden's plane–an irreverent reference to the Democrat's tendency to cite John McCain as "my friend" and tell voters a variation of this story he told in West Palm Beach, Fla. last week: "If John McCain picked up the phone today and said, Joe, I need you to get in a plane and fly out to Missoula, I can't tell you why, I'd get in a plane and I'd go. And I believe he'd do it for me."

Before Biden's campaign plane taxied to the runway, headed for Montana, Biden spokesman David Wade responded to the joke with a jab at Palin. "You realize you could've made history," Wade said. "If you'd found a cardboard cut-out of Governor Palin, that's the closest she would've been to taking tough questions from the national media since she was selected…Yet another way that McCain-Palin is more of the same." ...

8. That caught my eye, too.
My friend called me the other day to tell me Palin was going to be in Colorado. I haven't heard word one about it, but a quick search shows she was in Colorado Springs with McCain on Friday, drawing 10,000 people in that hosts Cheyenne Mountain, the Air Force Academy, and Focus on the Family. So of course she drew 10,000 there. Interesting that she can speak to 10,000 people in Colorado but can't speak with one reporter this weekend.

Springs crowd cheers McCain, Palin

Not an estimate of 10,000 at one or two events. Then if Obama draws a crowd of 20,000 they say it was a crowd in the thousands.

When I moved here, I assumed the Springs would be a liberal as Boulder. Was I wrong!

I can't put a democratic bumper sticker on my car---I'll get chewed out by right wing nuts or my car'll be keyed.

I know the other four liberals who live here--and they're scared too! :) (sigh)

my decent job is what is keeping me here.

gotta say though, it is very interesting to live here. i think everybody should immerse themselves is a culture so opposite of what they believe for a few years as an educational experience. who would have thought living around so many stupid people could be so educational?

what caught my eye was this paragraph

The McCain camp provided no opportunities for local media to interview either McCain or Palin, and reporters traveling with the candidates said they're in the midst of a long spell without any access to the presidential contender.

This isn't an attack. It's asking a legitimate question about why the Vice Presidential candidate refuses to be questioned by the press, as all VP candidates have throughout history.

It's going to be a long two months. Expensive, too. As I know I will be destroying at least one TV.

I wish the Dems would be just a little bit snarky. Just imagine the press asking about the cutout and the Dems making comments about her being ready from day 1 or how she called Hilary a whiner but obviously Palin can take whatever the big boys dish out at her.

6. yes, that's what I'd like to see
a cardboard cutout. They have to get one of those going and ask it at every opportunity, "Ms Palin, what do you think we should do?" lean in close and wait for the reply, then tell the citizens, "Well, I guess she doesn't have much to say on this subject, let's move to the next". Yeehaw, we got ourselves a great idea.

where people were talking to a bush?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCo8cQd6Gdc

I know Palin is suppose to take some nerfball questions on an ABC interview.. I say nerfball because the questions will be softer than a softball

ennywhoo, the talking to a bush ad could be modified in someway... maybe talking to a bobblehead doll? or a parrot?
