Investigation into Palin Now on Fast Track
Source: ABC

ABC News has exclusively learned that Alaska Senator Hollis French will announce today that he is moving up the release date of his investigation into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her office to get the Alaska public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, fired. The results of the investigation were originally scheduled for release Oct. 31 but will now come almost three weeks earlier, according to sources.

24. Repubs Moving Quickly
That's because they own just about everything. I mean, look at the Chamber of Commerces that look more like a front to their Party then just a collection of businesses. And who pays for that????????? They have taken over Publishing Companies, some of the biggest box stores, etc...... And this whole thing about being a " hockey mom". Has anyone here ever really known hockey families? Or had the experience of raising hundreds of dollars for gear????? I have no children but when I taught, I heard constantly how most kids could not afford to be in hockey and I witnessed the programs in smaller cities pick the kids from the wealthier families. It is not true for all but really in most cases.

I expected it to be delayed till AFTER the election.

It may get 'fixed', but I'm hopeful that it won't. French has not defended Palin. He wasn't openly hostile, but he wasn't very complementary either. My impression was they weren't going to cover for her. I'm hoping for an honest and fair report. :fingers crossed:

Trooper in Palin probe tells his side
Source: CNN

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) -- The Alaska state trooper at the center of a probe into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power says he has "made mistakes, and I've learned from those mistakes."

But in an exclusive interview with CNN, Mike Wooten, Palin's former brother-in-law, also denies some of the biggest allegations against him, including drinking while driving.

"I made mistakes. I fessed up to them. I was punished appropriately, and I'm moving on," said Wooten, 36, who went through a long, messy divorce and custody battle with Palin's sister.

This way they have time to refute it with lies and everyone will have forgotten about it by Nov 4.

This would have been 100 times more damaging had it been released on Oct. 31 as originally intended.

31. Here's one reader's comment:Updated at 1:25 AM
"Gov. Palin received much praise for her acceptance speech. And the GOP bragged about how many hours she spent thoughtfully writing it. How funny that Matthew Scully( George W's former speech writer) now admits that he wrote the speech 2 weeks before he knew she was the nominated candidate. He wrote it in such a way that he could put in a few "special touches" to make it appear personal to the candidate. She was then sequestered for several days to allow the GOP selected public speaking coaches to work with her. She is no more than a parrot. I am very dissapointed. I am also a southern, educated, professional, Republican woman. I will be voting for Mr Obama."

"now admits that he wrote the speech 2 weeks before he knew she was the nominated candidate."
I knew that her speech had been written by Scully, but I didn't know that!

Walt Monegan is a very good law enforcement official, and Alaskans have great respect for him. There may be extra circumstances here, but Alaskans see it as Palin canning their favorite cop because he wouldn't fire her sister's ex-husband.
