Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, is heading for Pennsylvania Friday to begin an "On the Road to Change" bus tour of battleground states, fresh off the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

With Mr. Obama will be his running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, and both candidates' wives -- Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden.

The Obama campaign said the bus tour will start in Pennsylvania and make stops in Ohio and Michigan, but did not yet have specific details.

On the tour, Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden will "meet with voters to discuss America's economic challenges and the Obama/Biden blueprint for change," the campaign said.

On edit further info: The bus tour also will include stops in two other battleground states, Ohio and Michigan.

Two previous Democratic presidential nominees also made Pennsylvania stops the first day after their conventions, starting with Bill Clinton/Al Gore in 1992 near Carlisle and John Kerry/John Edwards in 2004 on the east side of the Capitol.

1. I'm guessing the crowds will be larger than they were when
Biden was in the race, which is almost too bad. He excels at the small-group one-on-one venue.

The two of them together will be so cool! And their amazing wives!

Hope you get a chance to see them!

4. I saw Clinton-Gore way back in 1992 when they spoke
in my hometown of McKeesport in front of JFK statue.

Saw Kerry-Edwards when they were in Greensburg in 2004.

I'm going to do my best to see Obama-Biden if they're anywhere in the area.

5. Outstanding!

After this, they should do a bus trip of Virginia and North Carolina, and hell, West Virginia. I'd also like to see one of Colorado and Nevada.

6. Obama, Biden starting bus tour in Beaver on Friday
Western Pennsylvania will be the first stop for Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, on his "On the Road to Change" bus tour of battleground states immediately following the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

Mr. Obama, running mate Sen. Joe Biden and both candidates' wives -- Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden -- will attend a Friday evening event in Beaver, the Obama campaign announced today.

The "On the Road to Change" event will be held in Irvine Park, Beaver, with gates opening at 6 p.m. The program begins at 7:30 p.m.

The event is open to the public but tickets are required, available from Obama campaign field offices in Butler, New Castle, Beaver and Downtown Pittsburgh, all listed on the Obama Web site.
