NFL Players Union Head Dies

Gene Upshaw, the longtime executive director of the National Football League Players Association, has died.

NFL.com reports the 63-year-old Hall of Famer died of pancreatic cancer.

3. Pancreatic cancer is brutal
Dropkid's paternal grandma died of it last year, Randy Pausch and Gene Upshaw this month, Michael Landon, Joan Crawford, Donna Reed, Fred Gwynne, Bill Hicks, and many more have been killed by it.

10. Yes, my great aunt was diagnosed a few years ago
on December 30. My mom and I drove out and saw her at her son's home on January 1 to say goodbye. On January 8, she was dead. She seemed fine the week before, then she died. Incredible.
