Clinton wants her deligates heard at convention
Source: LA Times

DENVER -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is seeking a way for her delegates to be heard at the Democratic National Convention, telling supporters such a step would help unify a party that split between her and Sen. Barack Obama during their hard-fought nominating contest.

"I happen to believe that we will come out stronger if people feel that their voices were heard and their views respected. I think that is a very big part of how we actually come out unified," the New York senator told supporters last week at a California fundraiser.

Seriously... that the holy hell can they contribute to the convention aside from venom?!
The decision was already made, Barack Obama, for better or worse IS the nominee!
Anything else will only give the RW MORE ammunition.
I really wonder about Hilary and her supporters, I honestly do.
Do they even live on the same planet as us.
It's OVER, move on, we need to be unified if we are going to stop the RW spin machine from stealing YET ANOTHER election!

2. I don't think they get it
There's some more information in this Time article I was just reading that goes in the same direction:

But behind the united front, says an adviser, "it's not a great relationship, and it's probably not going to become one." In private conversations, associates say, Clinton remains skeptical that Obama can win in the fall. That's a sentiment some other Democrats believe is not just a prediction but a wish, because it would prove her right about his weaknesses as a general-election candidate and possibly pave the way for her to run again in 2012. Clinton is also annoyed that Obama has yet to deliver on his end of an informal bargain, reached as part of their truce, that each would raise $500,000 for the other. "Hillary has done her part in that regard," says an adviser. "Obama has not."

http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,183011...

I don't think they get that they are not the party. Maybe at one point they were the party, but not anymore. The party is not all about them anymore. But they still act so damn entitled.

(And for anyone accusing me of Clinton hate, I don't hate them, I just want them to go away.)

17. wanting the Clinton's to go away is foolish
Edited on Thu Aug-07-08 08:35 AM by cap
Obama will need former presidents (and since Hillary played a key role in her husband's administration) for advice. Right now, the only Democratic President alive is Carter. Obama can't go to the Bushs or Ford for advice.

Every President looks at the past presidents for overall strategic guidance... they don't follow orders from the past president... but they sure as heck want to know what happened and why things are the way they are.

We all need to make nice and not just for the campaign.

3. Um, Hillary, the man has an election to win.
Wants them heard? The way delegates are heard at a convention is by floor vote and she previously said that she did not want a floor vote. (Wonder why?) So, she does not want to risk being trounced in a floor vote, but she wants the PUMA's to be able to rant and cause division at the event that should be nothing but a celebration of the Party's candidate? When in history has that ever been allowed? When, in her mind, did the Democratic Party become the Clinton Party?

Hillary in 2012? She better start worrying about her Senate seat.

That Hillary wants to have her delegates counted...

10. And now the media can focus their attention on this garbage for the next 2 weeks.
The morning shows today aren't discussing Obama's stand on the issues. They're talking about the brewing storm with the Clintons.

WTH can they possibly be thinking? We're trying to win an election here!

Hillary: me me me me me me me

15. This doesn't surprise me...at all...
There was too much silence from the Clinton camp
after the primaries...

Even now, many of the Clintonistas are still
raging in the media, still 'picking at the scab'
so to speak. There are some claiming they'll vote
for McCain because they believe he represents their
interested. What a joke! Denial is a powerful force.

And Bill Clinton is acting like a spoiled child.
I have this bizarre sense that this goes way back
to the Gore campaign.. how Al distanced himself from
the Clintons, and now, once again, Billy is out of the
eye of the 'hurricane' of campaigning.
He's angry, resentful, and blaming anyone within earshot.

Why in the world would Obama grant Hillary access to the
podium? Whose interest would this grow?
Put some distance between Hill and Obama, and a muzzle on Bill, and let's move on!
