Scientist 'lone anthrax attacker'
Source: BBC

A US scientist who killed himself last week was the sole person responsible for the deadly anthrax attacks in 2001, new FBI papers allege.

Dr Bruce Ivins alone controlled flask RMR1029, used in the attack, could not account for unusual overtime in labs and issued death threats, the FBI says.

The anthrax-laced letters killed five people, made another 17 sick, and unsettled a nation traumatised by 9/11.

5. Another Bush-Cheney Lie
I don't believe this guy was the only one involved for one minute.

Clearly this was a job put-up by 'insiders' of some variety to terrorize the American people into accepting the Patriot ACT, the attack on Iraq, Homeland Security Department, etc. and etc.

7. Conveniently the case in now closed all except for officially. If Ivins had gone to trial
something could have come out that pointed elsewhere. (To the hands of the same people who said the anthrax camed from Sadam? The ones Suskind reported? Could they have gotten someone, a different scientist, to mail out anthrax? Were they worried that by going to trial it would become obvious that Ivins didn't do it or that one of his lawyers or snoopy reporters might pick up on something that could lead to their scientist???)

Could Ivins have been suicided?

8. Ah, did they give up the "sorority" and "pornography" charges . . . ???
They are accusing a man who is dead and can't defend himself --- which I'd say
is their best chance of "solving" this case --- !!!

I think we need someone to explain to us just how complicated all of this is and
that being on the other side of the subject --- the vaccine side ---
Ivins would have had no idea how to weaponize Anthrax.

Also keep in mind that Ivins headed up the investigations for the FBI/Government
in the anthrax "letters" case --- and he and co-workers had possession of the
material from "the letters" if not "the letters," themselves.

Further, the Daschle "letter" was highly charged Anthrax intended to "float" in the
air in order to do the most damage. Feingold's office was in back of Daschle's and
the Feingold people were affected.

So this is a very sophisticated treatment of this material ---

Ivins would not have been able to make weaponzied anthrax ---

Meanwhile, the anthrax was made probably two years before --- and may have been
separated that long ago from its "ancestor."

9. A rush to judgement
"One critical caveat to keep at the forefront of one's mind is that when one side is in exclusive possession of all documents and can pick and choose which ones to release in full or in part in order to make their case, while leaving out the parts that undercut the picture they want to paint - which is exactly what the FBI is doing here -- then it is very easy to make things look however you want."

10. Just like the 'lone wolf' bank manager in Atlanta who somehow sent 5 BILLION of our tax dollars to
Edited on Wed Aug-06-08 04:12 PM by blm
Saddam Hussein in the years before the Gulf War. He was targeted as the scapegoat for GHWBush's illegal operations and then when Drogoul's defense lawyers called for Henry Kissinger to take the stand, somehow Clinton's DOJ hurriedly cut a deal so Drogoul would plead guilty and get a slap on the wrist and only a few years in jail. He was 35yo at the time, and somehow he 'died' in prison of 'natural causes' and the prison waited one week to notify the media.

There is plenty of reason to doubt the official version of what happened to a 35 yo bank manager in Atlanta named Christopher Drogoul. Does anyone think that any bank manager could send 5 billion dollars of US tax payer money to Saddam Hussein via the same Italian bank that the CIA loyal to BushInc always seem to use?

to highlight the evidence against BushInc. Many don't remember it because the corpmedia was helping push the gays in the military nonissue to blow it up into a bigger story. It is horrific how much protection Poppy Bush and his cronies received throughout the 90s and all under the cover of some scandal blown up to smear Dems, as Clinton had no interest in exposing any of Poppy Bush's illegal operations at all, let alone holding him accountable.

11. This isnow the sad "highlight"
after the death if Dr Ivins.
It was forseeable that once the guy is convienently dead all of a sudden the result of the FBI investigation will miraculously be presented after almost seven years of silence.
Please kick this thread cause I believe people should be aware of this ASAP.
Thanks.

In 1998 Jack Gillis and I started asking questions about the "talking points" document that let Ken Starr investigate the Lewinsky affair. (L. gave to Tripp to suborn her perjury, the story went, and Starr claimed it came thru her from Clinton himself.) We ended up on CNN's Burden of Proof and our work (which began with questions and unease . . . like the Ivins matter) became the subject of a dozen important columns (Boston Globe, New York Observer, etc.)

Or we just could have turned our backs . . .

19. Gov. Story: Ivins used Tylenol with Codeine. . . . Who prescribed this????
I'm sure that if he was eliminated, that his assassins or their sponsors have an answer for this, but it requires another story (one with a doctor or a dentist and a pharmacist) which opens the door for more problems (and more people "suiciding themselves"?).

"bushie caught the anthrax guy."
edit: Every bit of info coming out about this guy is fishy. "He was a registered Dem", so why were only Dems specifically targeted? "He was working on an antidote for anthrax so he wanted to test his work", only it was a vaccine, not a cure. "He couldn't account for a lot of overtime". Oh, by all means, GUILTY!!!

29. In honor of Bush
this guy didn't even have the powder anthrax, he had the liquid kind- and it takes some kind of special machine to make it into what was sent out. olbermann had a scientist on tonight who explained it (better than I am).

This is the anniversary of the day Bush got the warnings re terrorists wanting to attack America, using planes to do it, etc...and it's also the anniversary of the day Bush decided to fu*k justice and fu*k the american people. Now Ivin is another example of how Bush will IGNORE the issue of our safety and just go for the easy answer. Why?

Edited on Thu Aug-07-08 12:09 AM by arewenotdemo
Because no amount of evidence the prosecution could detail would ever suffice, short of you, personally, seeing me actually do the deed.

Come on, people. If the several reports are to be believed, Ivins had (1)access, (2)capability, (3)motive, and (4)a history of mental illness.

Alright, show of hands. How many of you are both Catholic Church organists and jugglers?

He didn't have means or motive and they can't place him at the scene. His mental health history is peanuts that was blown 'way out of proportion. You don't get people who are both dysfunctional AND have very successful 35 year careers in such specialized research.

And my favorite cousin is an observant Catholic, musical and can juggle up a storm. There are more of us than you think. . . .
