Anti-gay group protests at McDonald's (Pix)
Source: PageOneQ

Using the words of the late Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. to bolster their case, consumers opposed to support of the National Lesbian and Gay Chamber of Commerce by fast food giant McDonald's protested yesterday outside one of its restaurants in Citrus Heights, California.

Holding signs imploring Christians to boycott the popular chain, the demonstrators were told by a staffer at the location that they would e-mail the corporate headquarters with their concerns. "The Christians agreed to write a letter that McDonald's would forward also," reported the conservative site WorldNetDaily.

1. Screw them. Show the bigots your big macs!
I'm eating McD's 3 times a week, just to spite these bigots.

4. it's fine
BP is low, cholesterol is good.

Like i said, I am massively pro-active about my diet. I'm a competitive strength athlete.

But I also need to make sure I get enough saturated fat (seriously) and a bit of arachidinoic (sp?) acid.

I eat tons of veggies, fruit, eggs, liver, etc.

But gotta get my McD's too.

2. This picture looks photoshopped

All the signs are at the exact same angle and the lighting and shadows don't match the rest of the photo.

WTF?

6. I wondered about that, too. It DOES look photoshopped.
They also don't seem to know Rev. King supported Gay Rights.

7. I agree. It's definitely photo shopped. LOL!
They couldn't even muster seven people to hold real signs - they had to paint the signs in later!

This goes up there with the freeper convention in DC when the porta-potties outnumbered the freepers.

5. There are so many GOOD reasons to boycott McDonalds... can we just get behind these guys this time?
I mean, they're protesting the right company, but for the wrong reasons.

10. I saw that day one person holding one sign that said
something like "Real Christians Boycott McDonalds." On the same block a few yards away were three younger looking people - a guy and two women, or two guys and a women holding signs with rainbows and words about "bigotry not being a family value."

You know maybe the bigots have a point. Ronald McDonald never seemed to be married to Ronda McDonald or any female, but he was often pictured with a child sitting on his lap promoting the Ronald McDonald House - a place where parents of severely ill children could stay next to children's hospitals to be close to their children during their treatments. Now, clearly McDonalds is not about "Family Values."

"Love Jesus." Shouldn't there be a qualifier? "Love Jesus - BUT NOT IN A GAY WAY?"
