McCain: Media 'in love' with Obama
Source: Boston Globe

John McCain's campaign, with some acid humor, is directly addressing what many critics see as press infatuation with Democratic rival Barack Obama.

It announced today it is holding a contest between two video compilations of various media talking heads fawning over Obama and political foes remarking about it. Both are set to music, one to "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" and the other to "My Eyes Adored You."

"It's pretty obvious that the media has a bizarre fascination with Barack Obama. Some may even say it's a love affair," the campaign said in a statement accompanying the videos. "The media is in love with Barack Obama. If it wasn't so serious, it would be funny."

FR and it's an awesome love note, if you will, from various (especially Matthews)pundits swooning over Obama. I was really surprised at the end when it said it was a John McCain ad. It was very, very pro-Obama..

McW should be ecstatic that the press is giving more coverage to Obama. McW is making so many gaffes or looking clueless or getting snarky so often, that the less is seen of him, the better he is able to keep his mythology alive. What is behind the curtain is not very pretty.

20. I just wish that just once, anyone in the mainstream media would demand evidence.
This is part of the reason the battle for our country is more or less already lost - because what passes as professional is a complete farce. Not one person will demand that the McCain camp detail what they consider to be examples of how the media is in love with Obama - compare and contrast. Yet Dan Abrams has a regular segment on his show called "Teflon John" about how the media consistently refuses to cover any of McCains blunders, gaffes or outrageous statements or actions.

During the primary, Obama did receive more favorable coverage. But that wasn't because of any mass conspiracy. It was because he was new and exciting. But since the primaries have ended, no one can make any sort of credible case that Obama has received particularly favorable coverage. Every move he makes is disected and torn apart in the media. The media celebrated his nomination - now, as most of us predicted, they are taking as much pleasure in believing they will be responsible for cutting him down to size.

Is the Obama glow fading? (answer: no.)

Is Obama flip-flopping? (answer: no.)

Is Obama funny enough (not even kidding on this one - it was a media "concern troll" question)

Is Obama having fundraiser trouble (answer: no)

Has Obama changed his position on Iraq? (answer: no)

Obama believes in meeting with enemies without any preconditions whatsoever (said just last night on CNN, president as fact. It is a lie.)

Obama having trouble getting past Clinton supporters (Bwahahahahahaa)

Obama shouldn't be traveling abroad when the economy is this bad (WTF? As much as I wish he was, HE IS NOT PRESIDENT YET)

And on...

And on........

And on............

And on...............

And on....................

Now... what do we have for McCain?

...

...

(Crickets)

26. "..the media has a bizarre fascination with Barack Obama."
Hey John! Do you think that this "bizarre" fascination might stem from the fact that a Black American has a genuine shot at being elected President in a country that only 143 years ago would have enslaved him? No... Couldn't be that. :eyes:

Every time you or one of your surrogates opens your mouths you remind me what a complete moran (and asshole) you are. You manage to say something either asinine, hypocritical, or just an out-and-out lie at least once a day, and you have yet to be called on any of them in the MSM. Yet Obama simply RESTATES his position, and is taken to task for it. Yeah, I can just feel the love.

Wow.
The media's darling maverick, the teflon POW guy is saying the media loves Obama?

Yeah, let's compare, um.... Preacher stories? Campaign funding stories? Wife treament? Gaffe coverage?

How about nobody even touching the Keating Five Scandal?
How about nobody even touching the whole first marriage scandal?

We could all go on and on.

I can't believe he's out in public, saying this.

The media ought to skewer him, but.... HELL NO.... they won't.
They'll tell it like it's true -- because if McSame says it, it's really news.

42. Most of the media does love Obama, but I do think he gets the best AND worst.
I mean, they constantly fawn over him but the only thing that sells more than a story about how awesome Obama is, is a story of a "fall from grace". I.E. Rev Wright.

47. Classic "Big Lie" propaganda technique
Defined as: "a lie so "colossal" that no one would believe that someone "could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously".

Hannity, Rush, O'Reilly, Couric, and the rest of Bush/McCain media will all be out asserting that some unseen, unheard phantom in the (liberal-free) "media" is making Obama look good. Next they will assert the bounce in his poll numbers is due to this imaginary fawning.

48. Love hath no fury like a has-been scorned...
He used to have them all eating out of his hands. Now, the more they see, the bigger they yawn. Like the rest of us.

He's not saying anything interesting. He's not proposing anything interesting. He's all for a heaping helping of status quo with some same as before on the side.

He seems slow. He stumbles over his words, and says incredibly stupid things. He can't tell a Shia from a Sunni or Iraq from Iran. He's sort of pathetic.

And he wonders why the press is hot on Obama? Who wouldn't be?

In fact, less attention is probably his friend. The more people paid attention, the more of his total inability to grasp the most basic economic or foreign policy ideas would scare them to death.
