Lieberman: 'I won't run with McCain'
Source: Connecticut Post

BRIDGEPORT — Despite supporting Republican John McCain for president, U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman said today he would not accept the vice presidential nomination if McCain offers it this year and would not take a cabinet position in his administration.

"I'm where I was meant to be," said Lieberman, who won re-election to his Senate seat two years ago as an independent after losing the Democratic primary.

However, Lieberman, a life-long Democrat — during a visit with voters at a local diner this afternoon — said he might accept a speaking spot at the Republican National Convention in September, where McCain is expected to accept his party's nomination for president.

"That's yet to be decided. I would if asked," Lieberman said of the possibility of speaking to the GOP convention. "But I would not attack Barack Obama. I would explain why I'm supporting McCain."

Even Lieberman's smart enough not to want to go down in history as the only VP candidate to lose on both party tickets...

1. McNuts would never chose him. He knows two old farts on the same
ticket would guarantee his failure! Dumb as he sounds sometimes, even HE knows that!

18. Too Bad
I was hoping that would be the "final" straw for the democrats, because I think they will let him speak at the GOP convention and hang on to those committee titles on our side too!
