McCain wastes no time in turning negative
Source: Independent.UK

The Democratic hopeful Barack Obama took his campaign to the Republican bastion of North Carolina yesterday, while his opponent, John McCain, launched the first television attack ad of the presidential election.

Despite promises to stay on the higher ground, Mr McCain's commercial uses imagery to suggest that Mr Obama is a friend of America's enemies. It shows an apparently badly shaven Mr Obama looking across at the bearded face of the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

It is a far cry from the candidate's pledge in April for a campaign that is more akin to a discussion among friends than a bitter clash of ideological rivals.

"We have nothing to fear from each other," he said as he reached out to disaffected Democrats. "We are arguing over the means to better secure our freedom, promote the general welfare and defend our ideals." As soon as Mr McCain clinched the Republican nomination his office sent out a memo calling for "a respectful campaign focused on the issues and values that are important to the American people".

4. Racism? Of course, that too is hate.
Oh, and did I mention racism? And Radical Islamic Obamaists? And youth? Why, those 47 year old kids are too immature to know anything.

5. Definitely racism.
IMHO, it's pretty obvious the brown-black background color scheme is also meant to link the two together.

6. "Elect a leader with good judgment", he says.
All you have to do is put that caption on the Bush/McCain armpit-sniffing photo to rebut.

11. the ad darkened Ahmadinejad's skin color!
It wasn't enough to put Obama's picture next to his; they darkened Ahmadinejad's picture to make him look darker and swarthier (read: blacker) than he is!

17. I expected this...
.. but frankly I thought there would be a grace period before it got this ugly.

But, I'm totally confident in Obama. He will counter this nonsense. Sure, there is always the 30% idiot-contingent, you can't do anything about them, but there are enough sane people left over for him to win this.

22. He's turning negative because he cannot seem to get above 48%
in the polls. Candidates who go negative and/or ask for debates are usually desperate because they are losing. McSame has many, many problems and those problems are keeping him from achieving the 50% threshold. He had 4 months all to himself. He could have taken advantage of the Obama-Clinton bashfest and gotten a leg up on fundraising and reintroducing himself to the voters. Instead, the media was fixated on the bashfest and forgot about McSame. The guy cannot get about 48%, and in fact, he has declined in the polls.

The more people learn about McSame, the lower he goes. The more people learn about Obama, the higher his numbers go.

I don't think he knows what is happening anyway. I heard him say once he said something just because people wanted to hear it. If he is elected it will be the demise of our dying country.
