Defector: Bin Laden son "Forwarned Iran of 9/11"

BERLIN (Reuters) - An Iranian defector, preparing to testify in Germany's second major Sept. 11 trial, said on Tuesday that a son of Osama bin Laden had personally told Iranian leaders of the planned attacks on U.S. cities in 2001.

"Iran would be the safest place for al Qaeda because it wasn't a country where the U.S. could directly or indirectly intervene" to seize al Qaeda leaders on the run after the planned attacks, he added.

Zakeri says he is a former intelligence official who defected in July 2001 and tried to warn the United States, through its embassy in Baku, Azerbaijan, that a major attack would take place on or about Sept. 10.

My note:

This caught my attention because I remember one lone audio clip shortly after 9/11, never to be found again, which said that the attack was probably due on Monday, 9/10, but was delayed to the next day because the weather conditions were not favorable for sight-flying, and the terrorists were not trained for instrument flying. The weather is easily confirmable, just take a look at the microfiched copies of the weather charts of the New York Times for 9/10 and 9/11. I have looked.

Also, I remember how the press was later taking, spoon-fed, the translation of bin Laden chatting at a party, saying that he "knew the attack would happen 9/11". If I could only find that clip/quote . . .

2. Is this one of the bin Ladens in business with the Bush family

through Carlyle? And formerly through Bush's oil companies? Or is this another part of the illustrious bin Laden clan?

It is so tough keeping all the bin Ladens straight? Bush associates and "good friends," or "evil doers" who "must be crushed by our Crusade of Righteousness."

I think the White House press office should publish a program, so we can keep the "players" straight.
