Clinton campaign's new strategy ... vote for Chelsea in 2016
Edited on Thu May-22-08 02:05 PM by ckramer

The souvenir vendors outside Hillary Clinton's campaign appearances have added a new badge to their wares that reads "Chelsea in 2016" with a picture of the former first daughter.

Attention, whether from badge sellers or the national media, is leaving the fading presidential candidacy of Senator Hillary Clinton behind as the former front-runner faces what most see as impossible odds to win the Democratic nomination.

Now in the spotlight is her rival, fellow Senator Barack Obama, who has solidified his lead among Democrats and is setting his sights on Republican candidate John McCain in the November election.

As long as Chelsea is not a closet republican warmonger like her mom, I say go for it!

1. Is she going to run on her Hedge Fund Experience?
I'm tired of people being promoted because of who they're related to. The sense of entitlement is frankly, disturbing.

In 2016, I want a democrat that has continued to fight hard - OUTWARDLY - for our rights, and in promoting social equality and services (healthcare, education, elderly assistance, veteran affairs, etc).

4. A) Michelle isn't running for president - this is a discussion about Chelsea doing that
B) This is EXACTLY what Clinton is doing, running on Bill's record as part of her 'experience'. And it can be argued that Clinton only has her Senate seat because of her Husband. If you really want to go down that route.

C) Somehow I doubt Michelle's job is anything but cushy - and is well earned. She has a phenomenal background and degree to support her position.

19. Or, D), you have a double standard AND contempt for the ClintonsUpdated at 2:51 AM
Michelle got her job because of her husband's position as a politician as much as Chelsea got her job because of her father's. I have no doubt that either one is capable of doing their jobs, but politics counts, too. This is a universal practice and hardly a surprise. Singling out the Clintons as having "cronies" isn't just unfair, it's absurd.

Michelle Obama makes about a quarter of a million dollars a year. That's okay by me; why isn't Chelsea's salary okay by you? (And do you really think the Chelsea-for-President talk is serious?)

But we're supposed to "lay off" Michelle Obama, aren't we? (Yeah, that worked real well in Chelsea's case, too.)

Hillary, at least, had to run for office. And, no, that can't be argued at all. She campaigned and she won, the same way Barack Obama won his Senate seat. As for only having her seat because of Bill, let's go down that route. She had to overcome a lot of resistance -- all those anti-Hillary voters that Team Obama talks about incessantly, and depended upon to win primary elections.

By the way, what kind of job would Chelsea have to take that wouldn't make Freepers and Obama supporters accuse her of using parental "cronies"? Will Malia and Sasha Obama get the same kind of contempt when they are grown women? If the current practice among Democrats holds, they better be ready to clean up vomit and/or shovel manure after college -- and get Axelrod to make sure the whole country knows about it.

your obama icon and signature supporting him *grin*
As for her experience, lol your talking about something years in the future so its kinda pointless to bring it up now....Anyway obama has this pretty much wrapped up, clintons a long shot but hey she has the right to try and atleast the democrats actually are having a good primary no matter how heated the debate is, the republicans just picked mccain because he is the only one that stands a snowballs chance in hell at maybe winning because of how bad Bush has screwed up.

So that makes her 28 years old.
In 2016, she will be 36 years old, which will allow
her to run for Senate or the Presidency.

You have to be 35 years old and born in the US and
be a US citizen to be a Senator or President.

9. Experience?
Hillary's experience is extensive. Remember she worked for the law firm prosecuting Nixon in the Watergate case. Is two years in the US Senate enough experience to be President after Obama's fling in the IL State Congress. PLEASE.......your stuff is so sexist.

10. What about Amy Carter?
Remember that song from the Firesign Theater years ago?

"A-my Car-ter, first la-dy Pre-si-dent?
A-my Car-ter, the White House res-i-dent -
Is she from Hell? (Hell, yes! Hell, no!)
Some say she's Hea-ven Sent."
