Obama wants voters to remember Clinton's past
Source: yn

While Clinton brought up the problems Obama could face in a general election if he's nominated, Obama used a two-hour debate Wednesday night to remind Americans what they don't like about his opponent and her husband, Bill, the former president. Both candidates argued they were tough enough to withstand whatever Republicans try to use against them.

Obama raised President Clinton's controversial pardons on his last day in office. And he wanted Americans to know that Hillary Clinton repeatedly called him names in the past few days.

The point was to tie Clinton to the divisive politics of the past at a time when a new poll shows that a majority of voters view her as dishonest. The loss of voters' trust comes as Clinton has been attacking Obama for comments he made recently about Pennsylvania voters who "cling to guns or religion" because they are "bitter" about the economy — statements that he maintains he mangled.

"During the course of the last few days, you know, she's said I'm elitist, out of touch, condescending," Obama said.

"You take one person's statement, if it's not properly phrased, and you just beat it to death," he added. "And that's what Senator Clinton's been doing over the last four days."

1. Heck
Her present is scary enough. Howabout that bribery racket she and her husband have going on? $109 million flows into her pockets (hers and Bill's, same pockets), is anyone really naive enough to think there's no quid pro quo going on?

4. a big pile of money
that flowed into her husband's pockets - in other words, HER pockets - while she is sitting in a powerful position in the Senate.

Other former Presidents haven't been enriched in this way. Very few people no matter what their business are able to get that kind of money - it puts them in the class of "ultra-rich" (exceeded only by the insanely rich, e.g. Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, etc.).

$109 million is one hell of a lot of money, where's it come from and what was bought with it?

16. Interesting
That the obvious conflict of interest doesn't interest you.

That nobody else in Congress is hauling in this kind of private cash doesn't interest you.

That Hillary has a track record (Whitewater, cattle futures, and so on) of shady quid-pro-quo financial deals doesn't interest you.

That Hillary's brother came into a major cash windfall shortly after one of Bill's pardons, that doesn't interest you.

That their relationship with Marc Rich doesn't interest you.

That both she and her husband have been proven to be liars time and time again, with her husband the author of the most famous lie in modern history, wagging his finger at you and telling you with a straight face what he knew to be absolutely untrue - especially when he didn't need to say anything - doesn't interest you.

That the constant stream of scandals that follows her everywhere she goes, that we can never escape as long as she is in public life, doesn't interest you.

That what she did to Nita Lowey doesn't interest you.

That the Clinton motto is "It's not illegal unless they tell you it is" doesn't interest you.

That she and her husband blatantly dealt the race card not once but several times in this primary doesn't interest you.

What does interest you? If she baked cookies again, would that interest you? Better be careful if you eat one - the last time she tried to fool the rubes into thinking she was a normal person and not a cravenly ambitious, corporatist totalitarian was quite some time ago, and she's likely been out of practice.

She's spent her whole career burning people, that sort of thing always comes back to bite you in the end.

Remember Nita Lowey!

14. Not so much from the sale of their books as from the multi-million
dollar advances on their books, published by

subsidiaries of the media conglomerates that Bill deregulated in the 90s.

Just a coincidence.

7. Okay then
If the past is so important, let's talks about Meeks, McClurkin, hanging out with domestic terrorists, etc.

I don't like either one of these fuckers, but I guarantee you Obama doesn't shit perfumed liberal gold bricks like so many here seem to believe, and the blind assignations of divine abilities and traits scares the shit out of me.

They *both* stink, they're *both* centrists, they're *both* liars, and, when it gets down to it, they are virtually identical on all issues.

Yes, I'll vote for whichever one is on the ticket in November and I'll do it holding my nose to avoid the stench.

"She's picking on meeeeee! Wahhh!!!!" Shut the fuck up you big baby, how the hell are you going to handle the nastiness of the pugs in the runup to November if ths gets your panties in such a wad? Toughen up, or you'll be repug toast.

15. barry's present is enough to worry me--his praise of ray-gun, his comment
about repukes being the party of ideas, his "excesses of the 60s" comment, his "women must consider abortion prayerfully" comment, and a whole host of other things, his arrogance in stating that all hillary's supporters would come to him, but none of his would go to her, and on and on, including the way he handled the whole jeremiah wright thing (anybody who believes that in 17 or 20 years of attending that church, he was never aware of those comments, that nothing of the sort was said when he was in attendance, is delusional)

17. The Clintons have already had their two terms of office
Edited on Thu Apr-17-08 03:23 PM by CubicleGuy
So far as I'm concerned, given that they've always advertised themselves as a kind of "two-for-the-price-of-one" deal, electing Hillary as President is just a sneaky way to get around the Constitutional amendment that prohibits Presidents from serving more than two terms.

Time for some fresh blood in the White House, and no amount of blood-cleansing transfusions are going to allow the Clintons to be that fresh blood, IMO.
