New Iran incentives, sanctions unlikely now -Rice
Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON, April 11 (Reuters) - The United States will consider both fresh incentives or sanctions to persuade Iran to rein in its nuclear program but major changes are unlikely now, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Friday.

"We will always continue to consider refreshing both tracks but this is not the time, I think, to expect major changes," Rice told reporters.

"We have just passed a (U.N.) Security Council resolution (imposing additional sanctions) and we will see how Iran responds," she added at a news conference with Germany's Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Senior officials from the major powers dealing with Iran -- the United States, France, Germany, Britain, Russia and China -- are due to meet on April 16 in Shanghai to discuss what the next steps should be against Iran.

2. I can't understand why people think a war with Iran would help Mc Cain.
America want's out of Iraq. We don't want Iraq II. That all a war with Iran would be. That would be the straw that broke the camels back. Impeachment still wouldn't be an issue. America would drag those bastards out of office by the short hairs.

WASHINGTON, April 11 (RIA Novosti) - The U.S. cannot verify reports about recent advances in Iran's nuclear program, U.S. State Secretary Condoleezza Rice said on Friday.

At a news conference with Germany's Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier Rice said she could not verify "one way or another" the statement by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that his country had started to install 6,000 'ordinary' uranium enrichment centrifuges at its underground facility in Natanz ...
