Members of ''Saddam Fedayeen'' vow to avenge killing of Uday and Qusay

Iraqi fighters describing themselves as Saddam Hussein's Fedayeen militia Thursday vowed to intensify attacks on American troops and their Iraqi collaborators to avenge the killing of his sons Uday and Qusay, in a video aired on Al-Arabiya television.

"The occupation forces said the killing of Uday and Qusay will reduce attacks ... We tell them it will increase attacks," said one of a group of hooded gunmen who pledged to continue "the jihad against infidels".

Meanwhile, some members of the Iraqi Governing Council have been shown the bodies of Saddam's sons, which are being kept at Baghdad International Airport, said a US spokesman.

"There isn't the slightest doubt in our minds that these are the bodies of Uday and Qusay," the spokesman said. (Albawaba.com)

When that realization begins to sink into people's minds, as they watch the daily body counts rise, the recent "triumph" of killing Uday and Qusay won't be able to save Chimpy's sinking approval ratings.

6. The Fedayeen aren't the problem

It is the radical clerics we have to worry about - right now they are holding back and waiting - if the U.S. fails to restore a functioning infrastructure and economy - the clerics will capitalize on the people's frustrations and provide leadership for much wider resistance. Also hanging out there is the possibility of ethnic rivalries spinning out of control - Shia vs Sunni; Kurds vs. Turkmen with Iran, Syria and Turkey stirring the pot from the outside. Sustained guerilla warfare requires an outside source of arms amd resources. After years of sanctions, the Iraqis have the smuggling infrastructure to support a guerilla war. There is no way the U.S. can stop it with 150,000 troops, or even 500,000 troops. My prediction is we will carry on until we kill or capture Saddam himself - an then after a "decent" interval, declare "victory" and leave, probably leaving the U.N. holding the bag, if we can persuade them to do it.
