Cuban says there's little movement on Cubs front

CHICAGO (AP) - Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is a frequent visitor to Wrigley Field and has made it clear he's interested in purchasing the Cubs.

But there's been little movement on that front.

Before today's game between the Mavericks and , Cuban said they're waiting for the (economic) reports to come out in January.

Tribune Co. put the Cubs on the market last season, but the process has moved slowly. Many don't expect a sale to be completed until well into 2008, and some believe baseball owners may not let Cuban into their club.

I watch Cubs games regularly when televised on WGN, and seeing that prick would make me vomit.

When the Warriors punched the Mavericks out of the playoffs last season, the stupid punk got airtime every 30 seconds.

Maybe mr moneybags can pursue the crappy Devil Rays or Marlins.

2. I am a lifelong Cub fan

And it wouldn't bother me at all if Cuban buys the Cubs, as long as it results in World Series championships. But as the op said, it is unlikely that baseball owners will let him in. He's way too liberal for them.

3. If I were a Cubs fan, I'd be nervous. I mean a cursed

franchise possibly being purchased by a cursed owner.

That very good Dallas Mavericks team could ironically turn into the Cubs of the NBA...never quite lucky enough to win it all.

He's definitely irritating to watch from a competitive stand point, but he seems like he's a pretty good guy whenever I watch him interviewed.

And he hired Dan Rather.
