In Iowa, evangelicals give Huckabee a boost
Source: International Herald Tribune

The religious divide over Mitt Romney's Mormon faith that supporters had long feared would occur is emerging in Iowa as he is being challenged in state polls by Mike Huckabee, a former Baptist pastor who has played up his faith in his bid for the Republican presidential nomination.

Huckabee's rise in Iowa - some recent polls now put him in a dead heat with Romney, who had led surveys for months - has been fueled by evangelical Christians, who believe Mormonism runs counter to Christian orthodoxy.

In the article one of the evangelicals wonders if, in times of crisis, Romney's prayers would "even get through."

One has to wonder why the current "chosen" president never had any of his prayers heard either (or else his answers have been "go to hell").

It's hard to know who would be a weaker opponent for the Dems, a raving right wing Mormon or a raving right wing Babtist.

2. But Bush's prayers are obviously answered.
God sent him 9-11 at a time when he was falling precipitously in the polls. God sent him Diebold so he could be miraculously re-elected even after everyone had figured out what an idiot he was. God made Pelosi take impeachment off the table.

4. Huckabee's an asshole.
...and those Evangelicals scare the crap out of me. Anybody who's so out of touch with reality they think evolution is up for debate is DANGEROUS. We need better schools, especially down south.

5. True, but I love it that he scares the the rePIGs when he talks about
"helping the least of these," because that AH Greasy elitst Rommnney actually flinches when anything is said about helping those who are not in ROMMNEYs Rich social group.
I hope he goes at them. He is religiously insane but they, every last damn one of them. are filthy greed pigs whose main goal is oppressing American workers, dismantling the middle class, and creating a super rich class and a giant poverty class. Every last one of them wants to be a feudal lord, except Huckabee who is just religously insane like all religiously insane people.
