KARL ROVE TO BECOME NEWSWEEK CONTRIBUTOR

New York -- Karl Rove, the former White House deputy chief of staff, will become a Newsweek contributor, offering occasional opinion pieces to the pages of the magazine and to Newsweek.com.

"Newsweek has a long tradition of asking practitioners and opinion-makers to offer our readers the benefits of their experience in occasional opinion essays,” said Newsweek Editor Jon Meacham. "Whether one agrees or disagrees with Karl, there is no arguing that he has been a critical player in the political world with insights and experiences that we think will give our readers something unique. A great recent example is George Stephanopoulos, who did terrific work for us after he left the Clinton White House in the second term."

Edited on Thu Nov-15-07 02:05 PM by underpants
Editor:"I'm not sure but he seems to have just blotted his massive forehead in an ink pad and randomly smashed it against some legal sized paper"

Copy editor:"Oh, well this makes three weeks in a row. You want me to.."

Editor:"Yeah call the ghost writer again"

2. That "Newsweek Editor" Jon Meacham is a real piece of work
After one of bush's state of the union speeches, he went on camera and shouted about how "the Democrats have no message!", which was his preassigned talking point as the sotu speech was being prepared.

He's also written these books about religion and politics. GOP operative, all the way.

Check out this Sean Insanity meltdown on the subject. Maybe now that Karl's in, he'll consider it fair and balanced.

Yuk! Ann Coulter :puke:

She's ugly inside and outside.

It's amazing that people can make money by employing asshats like Coulter and Rove to spew their venom, I mean what "market" is Newsweek aiming for here? The Bushbot's? Didn't know they could even read actually!

With the internet, most news is old news by the time the weekly comes out.

They often offer an in-depth recap with some good writing and angles that immediacy may not provide. However, one must be wary. My wife purchased a three-year subscription to Time and Newsweek from kids working a fund raiser.

25. Oh, puhleeeeze!
"Newsweek has a long tradition of asking practitioners and opinion-makers to offer our readers the benefits of their experience in occasional opinion essays,” said Newsweek Editor Jon Meacham. :puke:

In this case, NewsWEAK is offering Rove a chance to LIE to their readers in an official capacity, no longer on background. We'll get the lies right from the horse's(ass) mouth now, instead of being from "sources close to the White House".

Another reason (as if I needed another) for totally ignoring NewsWEAK. :puke:

26. He already was a "Newsweek contributor". They were his stenographers before the Iraqi War.
I guess the "news" here is that he will now be paid for the "news" he wrote for them.

Perhaps Rove can get back pay from The New York Times for the articles he dictated to Judy Miller, too.

No news here.
